The only real issue with watching these assistant coaches in pressers is that they are all coaching all-americans 

None of them will suggest that they have some real question marks in their room. Also how many times do we need a question on "what's his ceiling"? An honest answer would be Wal-Mart store manager maybe?

Yeah, I understand the argument, but I think surprise may be way overrated.  You aren't going to spring it for the first time in the Texas game.  You are going to try it a few times before that.  Once you have run it once, against UAPB or OSU, the cat's out of the bag.  The big thing is the other teams don't practice for it much.

And, alternatively, it gives them one more thing to practice for.

We had better personnel for running it last year. Dominique Johnson crushed some people lead blocking the 3 times we ran it. Lord knows we needed somebody back there to at least pick off the first guy in the backfield.

Yeah, the power I isn't exactly a "spring it on em" formation.  It is more like a "we are going to call the plays out loud at the line and you still can't stop it" kind of formation.  As my coach used to say, it's like killing ants with a sledge hammer."  It does the job but leaves a wake of destruction in its path.  That's the power I.   
It makes Kenny Hatfield's flexbone look like the run and shoot.

We ran some Power stuff under Petrino in the glory years. Not shocked if we bring it back. I think Bert did too but it was a failure like all things Bert.

You need QBs that can go under center and I'm not convinced we currently have that but maybe Petrino has beat it out of them.

One thing about not having "star" players is that the defense won't know who to cover...therefore we're gonna spray it all over the field.
