I have no doubts that we've probably seen Petrino's best days but that doesn't mean he can't be a highly effective OC. I wouldn't go basing anything off his 1 year at A&M running Jimbo's obsolete shit. 

It remains to be seen what he can do with this bunch. You look at this group and is it more talented than last year's bunch on paper? No it isn't but last years group featured a QB that was damaged goods and half retarded having to learn a completely new style and a star RB that got hurt early and played patty cake the rest of the year thinking he was a stud NFL draft pick. If you believe some of the stories a lot of the rest of those guys weren't super good with those two getting good NIL bank while they got catfish.

We moved on from a few lineman that were supposed to be better than they were last season thru graduation or otherwise. The WR group isn't exactly loaded with NFL talent but there's still some guys that could be excellent production guys. I think this is where Petrino's impact will be really apparent if we get guys running wide open that otherwise weren't getting the separation they should have been last season. They moved Satenga (sp?) to slot and are going to probably work that positon a lot. Boden I'm not entirely convinced he's anything but a flash guy here and there. Armstrong I think can have a impact akin to someone like Javontee Herndon back in the day. None of these guys are going to be confused for Jay Wright, Childs, Adams, or Hamilton. 

The RBs and TEs may be pretty decent groups. Petrino isn't overly known for his great TEs (on the field) but like with DJ Williams he's not going to ignore what he has with Hasz. We have some pretty good talent at RB. Everyone is focused on Jackson and I think may be sleeping on Hill. Also a dude named Reed I believe that is quietly coming on. I think maybe he' the JUCO guy. Russell will get on the field. Dubinion I think will fall behind unless he's really improved. Jackson will be the workhorse. 

Mostly a lot really depends on this dude that looks like Tarzan but has a history of being somewhat meh at QB. Oh and we have to block about 300% better than last season.

We'll be outmatched in talent and depth by every conference team we face (with the possible exception of Miss State) and 4-8/1-7 is a very real possibility. but I just don't think we will see this team quit like last years team did. I'm not above celebrating moral victories.

This is where I'm at. I think we'll be better on the field but it's not necessarily going to show up in the record. We have zero depth at OL or LB, and the ones that will be starting aren't that good in the first place. 4-8, maybe 5-7.
