My only optimism for the season is Petrino. Before we hired him I thought we didn't have the talent to compete no matter who we brought in to call plays.

Still afraid that great assistant coaches won't be enough spark.

Sam definitely looks like a dead man walking. No energy. In past years he's at least had enough spark to spew some fake optimism at this point in the fall camp. Makes me wonder if he's been told he's just a placeholder this season and Bobby and T Will are essentially running the team.

Sam definitely looks like a dead man walking. No energy. In past years he's at least had enough spark to spew some fake optimism at this point in the fall camp. Makes me wonder if he's been told he's just a placeholder this season and Bobby and T Will are essentially running the team.

One way or the other this is his last season.  He goes out on a high note or he just goes out.  If we don't have any horses, it would be hard to fake enthusiasm as more or less a lame duck. It's just an agreement to get kicked in the teeth every Saturday for a lot of money.

Actually I thought he seemed to have a little more energy than his previous press conference. However listening to him talk still does not give hope. 3 -9 still.

Well Bobby did say he wanted them taking chances so they would build some confidence in throwing certain passes. Maybe we're learning what we can and can't run or who can and can't run it.

We had a "good enough" defense last year (they were kept on the field way too much due to so many 3 and outs), to the point where if he were just one TD better per game, we're winning 4 or 5 more games.
