I was in Fayetteville last weekend.  What I heard from people that should know is that Yurachek has been beating the bushes pretty strongly up there and in LR.

The real problem as I have said many times is that these donations need to be repeated on a yearly basis.  One year, 2 or 3, etc isn't too bad (although I'll bet Oaklawn doesn't give $500k to the Foundation again next year) but people are going to get tired of it eventually.

Interesting-- my son-in-law knows that Carlton Saffa guy pretty well.  They were in school together, and both were higher ups in the ASG.  I was told Saffa is pretty smart, but a really weird guy. Not sure exactly what that means, but it may be a factor in his ability to negotiate.

They need to stop with the donations to the Razorback Foundation.  Any large contributions like that need to be directed to ArkansasEdge. 

I've heard rumors that they are pushing to try to pay off Long's Folly aka the North End Zone ahead of schedule, which is why we're supposedly "poor" in spite of massive increases in revenue from the new media deal.  If that is true whoever is responsible for that decision needs to A) take a few finance classes and learn the idiocy in paying off 4% loans when the going rate is 8%* and B) just freaking go home.  And if this is the reasoning for not being able to fire Sam last year...Jesus help us.



*I have no idea the actual rates or the composition of financing between bonds, loans, etc.  But the principle holds...you don't pay off cheap debt when the cost of acquiring new debt is much higher.

Nah, just give an athlete a cardboard box and a marker to write "Poor athlete needs help with school. All donations appreciated. God bless." Then put one on each corner in Fayetteville. 

Of course, that will harm the homeless, so maybe that won't work.

That would be one way to get rid of the beggars, have the athletes beat them up when they take over their territory.

So, if Arkansas did that one would have to pay the Razorback Foundation their cut and the "talent fee" before paying the actual price of the ticket?  That's Ticketmaster genius!  Then, if one bought a ticket through Ticketmaster, there would be a building fee, a handling fee, a service fee, and...genus!

If we have 30k season ticket holders each paying 5 per month extra (minimum) toward NIL then that's 1.8 million right there. That alone will buy you half of a starting offensive line.
