So we have two choices. One: finish 6-6 with a wasted win over Vols, with who knows what in a shit bowl depending on who plays vs opts out, with Sam coming back for another year of this. Two: a loss with TN, ending 4-8 or 5-7, Sam fired, and a new start in 25. I would have picked 2.

Lashlee did not "build" SMU...arguably that was Sonny Dykes but he's certainly improved the W/L every season as head coach so it's hard to ask for me. He's in a good situation in a conference that is going to start forking money out in revenue share that SMU probably hasn't seen since Trans A&M and dead hookers was a thing. He can always come to Arkansas and take that free money close to retirement...
