Lashlee did not "build" SMU...arguably that was Sonny Dykes but he's certainly improved the W/L every season as head coach so it's hard to ask for me. He's in a good situation in a conference that is going to start forking money out in revenue share that SMU probably hasn't seen since Trans A&M and dead hookers was a thing. He can always come to Arkansas and take that free money close to retirement...

TCU folks basically think Dykes inherited a Porsche from Patterson and drove it off a cliff. 

SMU beating the dogshit out of them this year did NOT sit well.

This isn't the old ACC, sure, but SMU is winning like this at a significant handicap to the rest of the league with a tiny stadium, mediocre facilities, and no TV revenue (per their ACC deal). Huge step up. huge.

Do you really think they wouldn't have 3-4 losses in the SEC ? They haven't had a terrible SOS but it's not like playing even our schedule so far. They've had a good season, but I think they would get exposed by LSU,Ole Miss, ATM, Bama etc.

Technically you are correct, but really the lack of TV Revenue is NOT an issue at all. I wouldn't be surprised to see them begin to upgrade some of their facilities long before they get the TV revenue.  It has become a rallying point for all the Higland/University Park folks.

I know and work with a bunch of those UP/HP folks, and most of them have never been to an SMU game and could care less about them.  UT, aTm, etc on the other hand, sure.  I've never seen that 32,000 seat stadium even half full before.

Of course they would have 3-4 losses in the SEC, this isn't even the ACC of a few years ago, let alone the new SEC.

I suspect the crowd sizes are much more of an issue for them than the overall money problems.  But I guess kids don't care about that any more if they are getting paid enough.

Was thinking about the possibility of Odom this morning. So I went back and looked at his Mizzou records:

Then it really sunk in that Mizzou has lapped us as a program because they had the balls to shitcan Odom — an alum, mind you — in year 4 after 6 win season while our media and admin perpetuates the "one of us" and "earned the right to go out on his own terms" bullshit with Pittman for the same results.

And the other depressing realization is that if we ultimately summon the courage to finally move on from Pittman, we'll probably hire a former assistant of his who got fired at another SEC school.

We are such a loser program.
