Yep. Now you're trying to convince a kid in East TX to choose us ove aTm, UT, etc. Why would he come here? Same goes for every other surrounding state we have to recruit. You are gonna be stuck with everyone's leftovers.

Arkansas fans need a coach who cares enough to take boosters to dinner and lobby them and to actually get out and sell the NIL program instead of passive aggressively take shots at them about NIL when interviewed by sideline reporters.  And most of all, they need to believe that the coach is good enough that it would make a difference if he had more NIL to work with.

you can go out and find that unicorn guy that had success at a smaller school but it won't make a difference if there's not enough nil to buy (and keep) players in order to compete.

I spend a lot of time in Kansas City and St. Louis. People there are way more enthusiastic about Mizzou than we are about the Hogs. I'm sure they are boat racing us in NIL.

Too many cooks in the kitchen and swinging dicks with money when we have a coaching search. If it can be screwed up, we will be the ones to do it.

The last two coaching hires were led by a female golfer + the North Dallas all hat no cattle contingent and then the last one was led by former football players that longed for the glory years of the Bert era where we would routinely get to shitty bowl games. AND we are shocked we're barely making it to a shitty bowl game (allegedly)

Bert went cheap on a OL coach after Pittman (it might not have even been his choice)...had it not been for that he probably coaches a lot longer at UA. Bert's teams mostly had pretty decent talent where as Pittman's teams are very thin on legit NFL dudes.

Hell, Long fired the best coach we've ever had and hired Cheeseburger. Then during his first season while he was busy going 0-8 in conference, Long lifted his skirt to Texas when he saw his rockstar AD horse was hooked to the wrong wagon. Didn't get the job, obviously.

Just fuck it all and hire Baz. I'm joking, of course, but I have no doubts he would do better than Hunter w/ regards to NIL.

Well, they've been winning games at a higher clip for one. I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't outspending us as well. They had to have paid a lot of money for Burden. Also, I'd hope we are aiming to be a better program than Mizzou.

The only formula for us to be more competitive is for the fans to pony up in NIL. I get it's unfair but it is what it is. It actually could give us an advantage if people bought in. Something we've never had.

JFB built a dynasty by locking up every decent kid in the state and then pulling kids out of Texas and surrounding states, at a time when it wasn't easy to get to NWA from Little Rock, much less flying in. 

Lots of kids would rather go to UA vs College Station or klanville or Columbia.  It starts with the coach and staff with a dedication to thrive and succeed in every facet of recruiting whether that's windshield time, NIL, social media, building a high school coaching network.  Sam nor bmfp have any desire or capability to update/upgrade their game. 

Bring in a hot young coach that can do these things and get the NIL and the players will come.

I don't think it's a stretch to think a new coach with some energy could separate some folks from more of their money for NIL purposes.  No one is excited about Sam's prospects, or the idea of lighting more of their money on fire to get the same results.

Nope, you get more competitive and then the fans will give more.  Imagine how different the vibe would be around the program right now if we had beaten OSU and Ass to Mouth.  Same team, same coaches, completely different atmosphere.

The key to success at Arkansas during NIL is largely the same as it ever was.  Take advantage of your opportunities.  Don't throw away wins.  Win the ones you're supposed to and a good percentage of the ones where you are aren't favored by playing sound football.  Build excitement with the program take advantage of the big years.

NIL will come with the excitement and actually should make it easier for a school like Arkansas.

But fans aren't going to give to Sam.  His record in close games is atrocious, probably the worst five year stretch ever in that regard.
