I think you have the players/coach thing backwards.  In the NIL/transfer era the coach brings the players.

You can build in 2 years instead of 4.

I said "above average" would be an improvement and apparently you thought I was saying Pittman was a notch below that.  I wasn't.  He's a good, likeable guy who has no business as an SEC head coach, he's not average but well below it, just not Morris awful (nobody is, it was one of the worst ever hires by a major program).

The more this season goes on and the Pittman era, the more I think that we arguably have the talent on the roster to compete in most sec games even this year. Most of our games have been within earshot of winning, besides ole miss. It just takes that coach that is ultra focused on every minute detail to gain that edge, especially when the talent doesn't just overwhelm. If we can't find that guy, you might as well ride the Pittit motorboat for another year.

If we could pass block up front, we likely have a different record. That is the most frustrating part about Pittman. Our weakest link each year which is his specialty.

Marginally better this year likely means 7-3 (we were in position to beat aTm without the critical turnovers which well coached teams don't seem to have as often). 

Marginally better last year would've been 6-6 and a crap bowl in a down year (beat inferior teams BYU and MSU). 

Marginally better in 2022 gets us to 9-3 or 10-2. 

Making marginal improvement in talent through NIL would maybe net 1-2 wins per year.   Simply upgrading from below average to average would do the same, and would also increase the likelihood of getting the talent boost through NIL as well.
