Until 5 years ago Sam was a career assistant coach so he is accustomed to being fired and hired based on wins and losses. What he is not accustomed to is being on the receiving end of all the vitriol and personal insults that his bosses endured when the losses became more frequent than the wins. Learning to grow that hard bark required of all successful head HCs/politicians isn't easy when your first gig comes in your 6th decade.

I believe Coach Pittman is more emotionally invested in this job than your average D1 HC. As a result, (while he well understands the consequences of poor season records) the "he's a fat piece of shit" remarks hurt him more.

Dirk nailed it; someone is trying to shield him but I doubt he is aware.

And yes, I still believe a graceful retirement at season's end is in the best interest of all parties.

Agreed. For the good of all parties I hope this is the path taken, because next year will turn into an ugly divorce, and we sure don't need that (again).

I'm not anti-Yuracheck, but this is two years in a row he is trying to make what can only described as lateral moves.  So, he pretty much has to go soon, now.  He isn't going to be able to raise money and all that now.

My only real complaint is the Neighbors situation. He's let that go longer than he should have. We are way behind on NIL it seems. Is that all in the AD, I honestly don't know.

He was handcuffed when we hired Pittman. We were still paying 2 other coaches and no one wanted the job after Morris destroyed the program.

The Neighbors situation is bad, but I assume it will be taken care of after this year.  I do remember how many people on here applauded the hire at the time, however. 

It's just not that easy to hire coaches.
