I mentioned this to my FIL a few weeks ago - not specifically about Green, but about some of the baffling personnel decisions.  These coaches are not stupid - they see what we see.  There has to be something else to it - and this was what my feeble brain came up with.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit. This is one of the problems you have with big money donors footing the bill. They want a part of the decisioning.

Or this is just another phase in Hog denial flow chart for all of us as we ponder why the Hogs can't fucking get out of their own way. 

That whole thing about not having 38 more support staff and us constantly looking unprepared...well DING DING. 

That the people that are hired to lead our NIL Collective graduated high school less than 10 years ago. 

There are so many things about this program that screams Dollar General budget. The commitment to winning is not just about NIL its the entire football program from top to bottom it's just flat out amateur hour.

In my head I think a GM should be hired to develop a support staff that is specifically there to scout in-season opponents for potential information that would be beneficial to learn about the opponent and player in a more in depth deep dive approach. Also sports science and strategy nerds. All of that shit should be under the GM. Head up the NIL effort specifically for the football program. That means having connections with the high rollers but also being grounded enough to convince small businesses and regular folk to fork over money. Then have the GM and his staffers collaborate with the head coach and his staff on what has been learned and what the NIL collective budget looks like. 

Under the GM there should also be bag men and all that stuff specially there to try to steal players from Ole Miss.
