Nutt deserved it but he was closer than I would admit at the time to being really good.  He is better than every coach who has come after him save Petrino.

It's interesting, the end of both Nolan and Nutt were similar.  Both felt they were disrespected for what they had done and it jaded them.   

In Nolan's case, it was somewhat true.  In Nutt's case, not so much.  Arkansas fans don't celebrate poor QB play and 8 win seasons.

Ironically, I seem to remember part of Nolan's problem was how popular Nutt was early on and how badly Nolan felt he was treated by Broyles in comparison despite all he had done and his general impression that Nutt was a clown.

Nolan was 100% right, and the school still won't accept it.

With even 10% of Petrino's organizational skills and even a 5% reduction in his own insecurity Nutt could have been what Dabo has to Clemson.

I can't disagree with this very popular take more.  The SEC was just as strong then as now.

3 NFL RBs and couldn't win 10.  Pretty sure he's the all time leader of having NFL players that played different positions in college than they did in the NFL as well.   Matt Jones (start over Travarious Jackson)/ George Wilson / Jason Peters just off the top of my head.  Pretty sure there were a few others as well
