New deals for assistants.

Williams' new contract includes a pay raise to $1.25 million per season, up from $1.1 million. Williams' salary will increase to $1.325 million if the Razorbacks win 7 or more games in the 2025 season.
The new contract does not include a no-compete clause that would prohibit Williams from taking another job in the SEC. His first contract included that clause, and the six other contracts released Monday include no-compete clauses.
According to terms of his contract, Williams would owe Arkansas a payment equal to 20% of the salary remaining on his contract if he accepts a job elsewhere. The buyout fee will be waived if he is hired away to become a head coach.

Smith and Fouch received $25,000 pay raises to $350,000 and $225,000 per year, respectively. Mateos' salary will increase by $12,500 to $712,500 beginning March 1.
Fouch and Smith were hired last year to contracts that ran through the end of February, with the option to be renewed if no head coaching change was made.
Sam Pittman is entering his sixth season as the Razorbacks' head coach. He is under contract through Dec. 31, 2027 — one season after most of the assistant contracts are scheduled to end.
At least eight Arkansas assistant coaches will be working on the first year of contracts during the 2025 season. Nick Perry was hired as the team's secondary coach earlier this month and signed a 2-year contract worth $325,000 annually.

That seems high for Mateo's, but his position group was probably the most improved on the team. 

It seems counterintuitive that a position could simultaneously be the team's weakest and most improved.  But that's a function of just how bad the line was in 2023.

I tend to agree. On paper a lot of the transfers are going to be pretty decent upgrades marking an uptick in talent on the OL for the 2nd season in a row. We just need to hold onto players long enough to develop them into something and for depth. I feel like we let a couple guys out of the building after last spring that could have helped. Mateo's OL was pretty decent at BYU and then at Baylor was fairly meh during some transitional times for that program also I think he was under Grimm who was well regarded as an OL coach that became a shitty OC. And as you say our OL he inherited at Arkansas was dreadfully bad on talent. This is a position group most would argue you can't just bake in a transfer players and be "good" you have to develop them in-house. I'm not sure that's true any longer but I do think development and continuity is a key performance factor.
