All of us on the board are very tuned in to the state of the program (even when our opinions disagree).  I don't need a high schoolers opinion as a weather vane.

We're a 5-7 to 7-5 team. 4-8 in an awful year, 8-4 in a great year. Only extreme outlier coaches like Chad Morris or Bobby Petrino can change that.

Oh wait, one of those motherfuckers is on staff. Hope springs eternal.

The people on this board aren't the ones receiving the signal.  One top recruit spurns the home state university for a mediocre to bad program (2-10 last year with 1 being vs. us).  Then another goes somewhere else.  And a third one, this time a portal kid, takes less money to go to a competing program.  Pretty soon  your 5-7 goes from low end of normal to the best case.  It's like a virus.

These kids like the ones who have committed to us might change their minds again before signing day. You never know who is playing for who until they are on the field.

I don't pay attention to this stuff nearly as much but I'm going to hazard that we aren't paying as much attention to high school recruiting as we once did. So those limited spots going to high schoolers are probably going to be high grade players

If I'm understanding the new revenue sharing model correctly, then we still have to keep pumping the current proportion of money into this clownshow instead of shifting it to baseball and basketball where we can actually compete. I wouldn't give football $5MM of that $20.5MM. Might as well light it on fire instead.

I dont see Pittman getting shown the door if he goes 6-6. Everybody will claim victory with a trip back to the Liberty bowl.

However,I don't see six wins. 5-7 at best. 4-8 is my perdiction.

Honestly, I've never been more disinterested in college football in general, than I am now.

Same, but that is likely an extension of Razorback Football.  In general, my excitement in a sport is directly tied to the Razorbacks and if they suck, I don't care much.  Like in Basketball or Baseball, once they are out of the tourney, I don't usually watch much or any of the rest of the tourney as my interest ends unless there is a special interest team I want to win or a team I really hate that I want to lose.

Even with Petrino on the sidelines and I love the dude, I'm not excited just because 1, I think his best days are past and 2, and most importantly, he isn't the head coach and likely doesn't have anywhere near full control of the total offense that includes the line and all facets needed to make it as good as possible, including all in-game decisions and how practices are run.

Just like under Nolan, for his system to work in games, the practices had to be a certain way.  The whole program had to be a certain way.  For Petrino's system to work, it requires perfection and that requires attention to detail and perfection in every facet.  You can't have practice run half-ass by the loafer-in-Chief and expect perfection in the game.
