Well, sometimes it's pretty obvious how few people we have doing things. lol

Like you said above, there are only 9000 donors.  Most of those are renewals.

The university already pays a significant part of the salaries.  They already have resources dedicated to payroll...if anything having the foundation paying is creating redundant expenses.

I don't think you realize how much they do, or how many people it takes.  I guess what you don't know won't hurt you.  Except in this case it will.

Not upset at all.  A little surprised at the ignorance of your position. But not upset.

Think what you will, but my opinion in this instance is surprisingly well informed.   I thought it was a lot more involved as well.

I think we need to decide how ticket prioritization will work because that will drive where donations go.  If the RF controls seating they'll get the money, same for NIL.  Does the RF still have facilities expenditures routes through them?  If so that needs to stop, for now.  Our facilities are more than adequate for revenue producing athletics.  I would like to see it split 60/40 or 70/30 toward NIL, if that's possible.

A $200 fee per semester for 26,000 undergrads would be over $10 million a year.

Nothing is more American than telling a bunch of kids, their parents and the student loan people that if said kid wants to get an education they have to help pay other students to play football.

I like that idea.  Hell, we've put one kid thru the UA and I've got a senior up there now...we pay shit on the semester invoices I have no idea what the fuck is (inclusion fee???).  No one will ever know it.

It happens at probably 99% of colleges, almost certainly including the one your son attends.  I don't like it but if we're one of the few not doing it we are setting ourselves up at a disadvantage.

Well, just one more example of Arkansas not really wanting to compete because every other school in the country charges one.

That was my main point.  We currently have three entities, two of which are competing with each other for limited funding.  The biggest need right now is for NIL/revenue sharing money.  Combine the functions of Edge and the RF, shift some to the athletic department if needed.  Drop a little bit of admin/executive expense...the foundation seems to run fairly lean but there are far too many assistant AD types on the athletic side that could be condensed down.

With one fundraising arm they can get all the donations into one pile, and whoever is in charge of it can decide where the money gets spent.  We would get a lot more donations earmarked for NIL if you could use it for ticket priority and parking.

The admin would just find a way to grift it but we should be doing everything we can to be competitive

Doens't make it right to pay football players through student financing.  Seems retarded actually.  But, my kid doens't go to Arkansas so you guys do what you do!  I support it if the Hogs land better talent.

I looked up School of Mines.  They do charge an athletic fee.  It isn't used to pay players in the vein of NIL.  It is used to fund equipment, facilities, coaching, and scholarships.

I further looked up what schools can do with the athetic fee and it appears that under federal regualtion schools are prohibited from paying student-athletes salaries.  I suspect the athetic fees that you guys are refrening that every school charges is used in the same manner.  So, that atheltic fee you want Arkansas to charge won't pay the salaries of the atheletes.

Who said anything about using it to pay football players except for you?  I just said it was ten million or more in revenue that Arkansas is not collecting that all of it's competitors do.  Most schools have done it for 50 years or more.

This is a textbook example of someone making up an argument out of whole cloth, defeating it, and declaring victory even when shown his original contention was wrong. lol
