If we're calling guys who aren't currently coaching then the first one should be to Bob Stoops. Especially at the rumored salary we'd be paying Rhett Lashlee. I'd make several others tell me no before Lashlee.

Unlike Gus, Lashlee is actually a UA alumnus, so it would probably mean something more than a payday to him.

Lashlee is more of a risk than Petrino and he will be harder to get rid of if he doesn't work.  I'm not necessarily "all in" on Petrino, but I'm not sold on Lashlee though there is no doubt he would be an improvement on Sam. 

I guess if he is the guy, I would be optimistic.  Though with Petrino I would be certain of results.  To me that's the difference.

I don't understand this logic.  If we are not willing to pay better than SMU then we shouldn't even approach Lashlee.  If Lashlee doesn't want to leave SMU and only wants to flirt with us so he can get more money, that isn't an Arkansas problem.  At the end of the day you have to offer more and if he turns us down then he turns us down.  We still have to take a shot if we think he is the solution to our problem.

All this yokel bullshit about playing games in LR and or Dallas is gone. This new revenue model is going to start pouring in...and NIL situation will probably get a bump based on renewed optimism (pending the hire)

Whoever they hire needs to bring energy, authenticity, and credibility. Yesterday was the first press conference we've seen in several years probably not since Bert where the head coach sounded like a head coach. It was refreshing and it felt real good to see Bobby back in the big chair. It felt even better seeing his wiki with him back as head coach. I really do hope he makes it very difficult for them to not hire him. Either way I think I'll be a peace and I think he will be too. If this is the last ride with Bobby lets make it a good one.

I'm an OG Yurachek darksider, but his response to that question was spot on.

It's a nice to have, but absolutely cannot be a prerequisite and arbitrarily limits your candidate pool.

If we're being totally honest, we kept Sam way longer than we should have or would have otherwise simply because he's "one of us." If Sam was anyone else he'd have been fired after the 2023 season, or at the very least forced out after the Mizzou game last year.
