If I ever meet Randy Reece (Biggus) I'd likely knock him the fuck out just for the fun of it.

Never has a bigger pussy sat down to piss between a pair of legs.
I was trying to think of his name and couldn't remember. Was an IR guy for some med company in San Diego at one point. Should I dial in on their next earnings call and fuck with him?

Our next question comes from Mr. HTL with GDIAF Securities. "Reece can you let us know how Alex Mortensen is looking? Is he still the slickest passer we've seen around these parts since Joe Ferguson?"

This is the last person on the planet I'd wanna be stuck on a camping trip with.

There is a ring of truth to some of these rumors about us going big.  I kind of think, and it seems like everyone else has this feeling too, that the last decade of mismanagement has brought us to a place where we either push all our chips in and go big, or just give up.  I don't think there are any half measures that will work.

We've done everything wrong.  We fired arguably the best coach we ever had for a personal issue.  We made bad hires and the worst hire in modern history.  Our AD got pissy and took himself out of the running for Kiffin and hired a career position coach.  We bucked the trends on the portal and NIL instead of realizing it would allow us to compete while we watched lesser programs like Mizzou and Ole Miss embrace them and prosper.  We kept a bad coach two years too long, were late to the GM trend, and got scammed on our NIL stuff.

We have to blow this shit up and start completely over in a big way, or just fucking quit.

Going big?  What coach fits the definition of "going big"?

Dirk, you might want to rethink this. Never mess with a man that goes around with two birds on his shoulder!

Fair point.

But what if we have three birds?

I don't think it is so much in hiring any particular coach, I think it is about a commitment to salaries and NIL.  Make the right hire, whomever that might be, and commit to NIL, and we can be Indiana in a couple of years.  But it is more than just a coach.

bigpig

I honestly don't have a clue who would constitute a "go big" hire.

Sure, there are names you can throw out, but none of them are either (A) available, or (B) would choose Arkansas over schools like LSU, Florida, or Penn State, etc. Whatever we could offer, someone else can match while also offering inherent resources that we simple can't.

Neighbors says, (I know...I know) that we have $9 to $12 million per year to spend on a new HC with commensurate spending for a staff and NIL.  I don't know who you hire, but that kind of money ALONG WITH commitments to salaries and NIL would get some attention.

It isn't so much about the hire.  It's about blowing up the whole penny pinching poor mouthing atmosphere up there.

That is "going big" and it seems like we have kind of reached the point where it is do that, or just resign ourselves to being Vanderbilt of old.  Success isn't guaranteed but failure is if we don't do something different.  And "different" is not just changing coaches.
