RE: The Big 12. I have always said, if we just want a big check, stay in the SEC, where we will never win a championship and will always suck. If you want a championship every now and then, but don't worry about the money, move to the Big12. Really, right now, I don't care which one it is. We are good at a few sports in the SEC, but football will never be one. No matter who the coach is. And we will probably never have another BMFP coach here again and will always be relegated to a mediocre coach who will take the job for the paycheck.

I was (and still am) a BMFP fan and I don't think we'll ever see his equal on our sidelines again but, today, a team with a mediocre coach that has a big fat NIL wallet will outperform a team led by a Saban every Saturday if Saban is NIL-poor.

As strange as it sounds, in today's era of paid-to-play collegiate sports Arkansas has its best opportunity to be a consistent legitimate contender in the SEC since we left the SWC. We no longer have to hope for a better-than-average crop of home-grown athletes who love the helmet each year as long as we have the cash necessary to buy quality athletes.

There is plenty of big money throughout Arkansas but, to date, we have suffered under a confederacy of dunces in the AD who are either too arrogant or too stupid (or both) to tap into that money. If we ever get the right people staffing the Athletic Department and a football coach who is not an imbecile, alcoholic or antisocial personality we can successfully compete in the SEC. If not, it doesn't really matter what conference we play in.

Spot on. There is a chance that in year 4 we beat Missouri (or whoever we play last) to get bowl eligible and buy him another year. You just can't turn your back on that type of momentum.

This 100%. Arkansas can win in any conference including the SEC especially with NIL and the transfer portal...I believe this actually helps us. Look at Indiana and they didn't go all Texas Tech about it. Get a better coach and the rest will follow...build a better culture.  BTW the B10 was better than the SEC this year in CFB and that hurts to say. Bottom line Arkansas needs to hire better coaches. I fear and believe that we will be here again 4 years from now.  Hope I'm wrong.
