If Enos is truly the bad guy in all of this(I mean, his play calling sometimes looked like he was sabotaging the team), all the more reason to force Sam out. He should have reassigned him to a basement broom closet scouting Arkansas 3A football for recruits) the second time he defied him. It makes Sam look pathetic.

It just surprises me that it took 7 games for him to realize we weren't running the plays in games that we were practicing. If true, Enos should have been let go a LOT sooner.

No matter what we want to tell ourselves the bottom line is for nearly a decade since 2015 Dan Enos has been largely mediocre as a offensive coordinator. 

From this point we can only speculate as to why he was hired by Sam Pittman. Obviously it was a semi easy sell to the fans by bringing up the successful 2015 season with Brandon Allen as a senior. It was an easy leap to think he could hone the skills of KJ Jefferson. Too damn easy. We are just fans and cannot really truly know if these players have what it takes to make the leap that Dan Enos was asking of them. If only there is someone who's job it is to know this sort of thing. If only we had a person on the sidelines guiding things and understanding what his team needs.

Sadly we don't have that person.

I mean, it was an easy hire.  Sam worked for Jim Chaney, Dan Enos, Jim Chaney, and James Coley. 

He knew he wouldn't be allowed to hire Chaney.  Colely got demoted after one year as OC at Georgia.  So, Enos it was.  He really hadn't had any dealings with any OCs except for those in a decade.

We've always made a lot about his coaching connections, but does a offensive line coach really make thst many connections?  I would expect him to be down in the weeds a lot tending his business.  And over the last decade when offenses have changed s lot, he was working for dinosaurs.

I don't think Sam is full of bullshit.  The more he talks just exposes his ineptitude at running a team or getting involved.  Saban sticks his head in all the meeting rooms and remains h de facto db room coach.  Sam appears to spend his time in his office playing Angry Birds. It's like he absorbed nothing from his experience about building a winning environment.  He's got to go.

Y'all figuring out that now he's saying whatever he thinks it'll take to save his own job?  If what he's said about Enos is really true then both should have been fired for incompetence.

No, don't.  I have been beating the Traylor drum for some time, and think he is definitely worth considering.  Knows Arkansas because he's been there, fantastic high school recruiting connections in Texas (especially East Texas), and from people that know him, an all-around good guy.  A winner.

I'm leaning toward Guiton at minimum will be the "co-oc next season, they'll bring in some budget friendly other co OC that will probably have an assistant head coach title and probably have experience as a D1 head coach

Sam is a lame duck coach and everyone knows it...but the media is pushing hard for this narrative that it was all the fault of Enos and Sam is just an innocent little lamb
