They hired a head coach that forgot how to win games with Prime Aaron Rodgers.  Dak is a guy I want to like but he's got to get real and realize what he is.

I think the issue with Rodgers especially after the SB win, was that he wanted more input into the game plan.

Heard an interview with the guy who wrote the book that just came out about Rodger's. He said the nail in the coffin in their relationship was the NFC Championship game vs Seattle. They had seen tape of a game that season where Romo had run 6 plays that Seattle couldn't stop. Rodgers told McCarthy they should run those plays until Seattle proved they could stop them. GB gets the lead, then Seattle comes back to win and McCarthy only calls those plays about 1 time each. Rodgers was pissed and blamed him for the loss.

Put him with prime Ditka or Cowboys Jimmy instead of the only retard to graduate from Princeton and Fat Nutt and he would excel. 

McCarthy is infinitely more of a problem than Dak.  And Jerry is a much bigger problem than either of them.

Dak has had three straight 12-5 seasons one or two of which should have gotten them to a champ game.  Instead he plays like shit in January.  He just doesn't rise on the big game, can't put his team on his shoulders and will them to win.  Dak would not have been kept around by Jimmy or Ditks or any other top coach after constant playoff collapses.

Big contract QBs not named Mahomes eat so much cap the rest of the talent suffers. Add a couple skill players, an edge, a cb, and OLs and they eat lots of it. 

The key is you go all in and win it, then tear down and start over.  Cowboys had too much dead money on Romo to help Dak, and now have a ton of dead cap if Dak leaves. Will be interesting to see how Green Bay, Miami and others deal with big qb contracts.

Coaching matters to some degree but players play the game.  Dak gets the yips for big games especially in January.  He doesn't have a lot of the characteristics Parcells, Walsh, Belichik, and Jimmy have said need to be part of a championship QB.  Montana thrived under Walsh (Landry passed on him think g he wouldn't beat out Gary Hogeboom) but others failed.  Dak is a great talent but that often doesn't translate to a champion in the nfl.  He is Kirk cousins.

Entirely possible, but we won't know for sure unless he someday gets to play for a coach that understands and demands excellence and gets the best out of his talent.  Fat Nutt and Garrett are the exact opposite.   They have more in common with Chad Morris and Dave Campo than with Johnson or Landry.

Dak needs to hit the open market.  Jerry can't say the real issue:  "I can't cut him because it would be $100 mil in dead cap.   So he can play out his fucking contract and win or hit the fucking road.  I'm not giving him $300 million!"

Dak no longer runs.  He plays the game totally as a biz decision.  And he only excels when he has a great o line, a strong running game. And a full complement of receivers.  He cannot put a lesser squad on his shoulders and make his team better.

I think it goes back to his brother's suicide and his mom passing.  His headspace ain't right for winning football.
