It wasn't a couple of drives.  He needed 65 plays, so the whole game.  It's so stupid although Jerry, the GM who signs every contract, says he had no idea about the incentive. Pissed off fans and more dumbly, tells every agent they need to protect their clients in the language of every incentive going forward.  Contrast that with Tampa Bat and Seattle working to get key players their bonuses.

Both are FAs.  Rush will get a new contract or a better gig elsewhere.  Hes one of the better backups in the league and has done well.  There is a reason the Niners traded Lance away after spending 3 ones for him: he sucks. I think that's probably an indicator of A-Rod protecting his stat line a bit too much in his career instead of just giving it all the beans. One of the reasons he's still playing is he's done a decent job of self-preservation. Where a guy like Elway who played into old age (for a QB) set his ego aside and they found a running game at the time and won football games. Elway had that emblematic helicopter dive into the endzone fully committing his body and soul to the football gods. Aaron Rodgers pretty much always has been about himself. When faced with a similar decision in a big game Rodgers choose to throw the ball out of the back of the endzone. He had more green in front of him than Elway did and that was for going to the Super Bowl and the motherfucker layed up.
