Uhh no.  Dak has a very problematic contract for 2024.  2025 is a void year.  Anyway his cap number in 2024 is $59 million.  If they cut him his dead cap hit is $61 million unless the designate him a June 1 cut so it splits between 24/25.  So based on his season most thought he'd get extended.  Tonight he proved again he can't play in big games.  A bigtime quarterback makes his team better, he leads the whole team, he makes breaks happen.  Dak causes his team to lose. 

I would cut him and eat the dead cap. He's got to go.  He's not worth a $50mil a year contract. Rebuild.  Trade Micah parsons.

A 2-6 in playoffs Dak has to know you gotta take a pay cut. Helluva season son, but you shit the bed when it mattered most. Again. Otherwise...I hear Denver is looking.

Daks contract, again, is a problem.  It was written with this huge balloon payment in the final year because at the time Dak was full of potential.  They knew they'd just roll it into his next contract since they'd be basking in success. 

It has a no trade clause.  Why would another team give you draft capital or a player for a player with a mental issue in big games for a player you must either keep on a horrible one year deal or immediately extend with a five year deal.  It's not an option.

  He's not going to take a pay cut.  His position will be I'll play out my contract and you can pay me, or you can extend me at $50 mil a year.  In real cash it's $34 mil in 24?as he got most of it up front.  We're talking cap hits not money but that's what matters.

It's not coaching.  That shit you saw yesterday was the old Dak big game tunnel vision that gets worse every big game.  The pressure is now gonna be even worse.  If he ever gets back.  Cut him and move the fuck on.

Hey Tex, just to console you a bit, it could be worse.  My best friend is a Cowboy fan AND an MSU guy, so for him not only is his NFL team disappointing, his favorite college guy ever is the anchor around their necks.

I'm not in a bad way.  I withdrew from the Cowboys the way I did the Hogs a few years back.  If the Cowboys went 17-0 I still wouldn't trust them in their first playoff game.  Same this year.  I didn't expect an embarrassing disaster like yesterday, but thought they'd shit the bed next week. 

The highlight of the season was halftime of the Lions game, with Jimmy in the Ring with his players surrounding him, bringing back my great memories of those great teams. Those days are gone, for players and coaches just like my young days with JFB, Loyd Philips, Harry Jones, Cliff Powell, and Bill Montgomery are gone. 

So I continue to put Jerry on the price it deal, and play GM figuring out players.  It's a fucking mess someone has to untangle.
