It amazes me how fast those girls can get a pitch to the plate. Even more amazing someone being able to put a bat on it.

Yup.

A 70 mph softball pitch from 37 feet will give a batter 0.35 seconds of reaction time.

Add to that it is moving up or down and sideways or tailing and spinning as well.

Cat Osterman could make it break 3 to 5 feet, it was just sick.

As an umpire, I am amazed at how good the catchers are to catch the foul tips.
