What is illegal about it? You could do it in baseball if you desired. They are in the box when they make contact, so the other movement doesn't matter.

that out on ole miss is one big difference between college and high school.
in college, any part of the foot can not be out of the batter's box when contact is made with the bat and ball.
in high school, the entire foot has to be out of the box when contact is made with the bat and ball.
