My uninformed take on this is that Green is brought in to "compete". We have presumably two other QBs on the roster in Singleton and Criswell that will have a chance to win the starter gig. Also KJ could come back but I'm guessing he gone. There's very little possibility Petrino knows much about the QB room at this point unless they are already able to get in there and go over film study.

I know one thing, no DB ever caught him from behind.

I can remember it happening once, in the "Ambush in Austin" game, but I'm pretty sure he was dealing with a hamstring issue at the time.

Of his three QBs (not counting Nathan Dick), I don't think anyone was saying "give us the next Casey Dick"

Then again, I suppose at this point it would be too much to ask for another Tyler Wilson, much less another Ryan Mallett.

Ruddy Stormwater is on record as wanting someone to give him more Dick.

But I digress.

I dug up his stats yesterday but didn't check the measurables. It's hard to coach someone to be 6'6". Bobby did damn well with his last QB of that height. 

And it's good to have someone who has experience as a starter. He can either push the other guys or take the job himself.

Matt Jones ran a legit 4.37. I'm gonna guess this dude can't run that fast.

I don't think his 40 is quite that good but he has more lateral quickness and shiftiness than Matt. He shows a pretty high level of athleticism in his highlights, especially for someone of his height. He doesn't have a big arm but shows some touch on his passes and throws a pretty catchable ball. Has a funky looking throwing motion.

I was reading College Football News this morning and they had an article on the top 25 QB's in the portal. #24 is Matthew Sluka from Holy Cross and this is what they say....

Old School: Holy Cross
New School: Arkansas

Bottom Line: He's big, mobile, and very, very good. One of the best players in the FCS over the last few seasons, he's got 1,000-yard rushing skills and the upside to do more as a consistent passer.
