What's not true? That we had not contacted him?

And it's pretty easy to beat up on Pittman these days. The man is just collecting a paycheck.

Which is not true in any way, shape or form. Comments like this are born out of lazy frustration.

Pittman is no doubt doing everything he can to make the Hogs a winner.  The unfortunate truth is it looks more and more like he doesn't have the skill set to do it.

To say he is lazy fat-fuck or just collecting a paycheck is retarded fan speak.

If he truly wants to try to make the Hogs a winner he needed to resign after this season so we could look for a real HC.

As you said, he doesn't have the skill set to do it. And he knows this. He's a lame duck HC and everyone (well, most everyone) know this. By all accounts he's a good guy, but the longer he stays the further behind we'll fall.

I'm not sure what there is to even be upset about (at least in this specificcase). Sure, in an ideal world we would contact every single skilled player hitting the transfer portal that may have the slightest interest in us. But christ on a cracker, quite a few are gonna be missed. With the portal sitting at something like 2k having entered this year, I can see most teams missing on some.

Don't disagree for the most part.  I would be shocked if he truly knows he can't be successful.  I think he thinks he can get it done.  Regardless, he surly knows he is on the hot seat.  And by all accounts he is a great guy.  Which makes the entire situation unfortunate.

Yes, I believe he still thinks he can do it.  And maybe he can.  He wouldn't be the first coach ever that got significantly better after a few years.

So we did contact the Alabama LBer and we're flipping out for nothing?

Results haven't been what we wanted (or what they should be) but Pittman is trying. What does him hiring Petrino say?

So are you saying that if you were getting paid $6.5m a year and you weren't getting it done in your job and you knew that you didn't have the skills to be successful in your job, you would gladly resign for the good of the company?

Yeah, I've yet to find a man in that position that would admit he wasn't the man for the task and step down. That's delusional.

I think this is a perfectly fair assessment, but, devil's advocate, I've also never claimed I would.  But Pittman did, didn't he?  Or so I've seen it claimed, anyway.

Urban Meyer at Ohio St.

Mack Brown at Texas

Coaches have resigned before.

If I was 62, a millionaire and had unbelievable stress at a job I knew I couldn't handle, you're damn right I'd retire to the lake and enjoy myself. But that's just me.

Most weekends or every weekend?  Or no weekends?  Or some weekends?  Its all so cryptic and confusion.

I bet he's there every weekend except recruiting visits and spring ball through first weekend in May. I bet he never cashed a ticket.

some of you take way too much interest in what the man's personal life is all about.

If that is true, he hasn't been sitting in his box.  He has been there one Saturday that I know of.  Wasn't "pounding beers" but probably had 3.  Not "pounding" in my book.
