Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Nov 18, 2024, 06:53 PMIncidentally, of the list of 14, the only one I thought man that guy's a Hall of Famer, was Ichiro Suzuki. Both for his groundbreaking cultural contributions, and what a hitter. The rest, I didn't know they were baseball players, or didn't think they are Hall of Famers.

Sabathia will get in due to the Yankee boost.  He probably deserves it, although not on the first ballot.

Billy Wagner fell five votes short last time.   I bet he makes it on his final try this year.

Of course, the greatest defensive CF of all time, Andruw Jones, should get everyone's vote.  He had 61.6% last year.

I agree that Ichiro should be the only first ballot guy on the list.
Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

Silent J may be the best hitter we have ever had.  His fielding was suspect but he could lay wood (aluminum) to the ball.

I am ignert on this subject because I can't remember the kid's name.  What is the kid who was the closer a few years back who had the one unhittable pitch?  Then he threw something like 150 pitches in a playoff game.  I think the Royals drafted him.  I obviously would Google MFer but I am blanking on his name.

Kevin Kopps is who I think you're talking about. He's in the Padres organization.

Thank you!

in triple A last year, but the 1.88 WHIP last year doesn't look too sporty, don't understand the rest of the pitching stats these days

I really enjoyed the kid when he was with us, hope something clicks for him where he gets to go up for a year or two.

He's absolutely snake-bit.

The Orioles mistreatment of Silent J continues. A right handed pitcher for Toronto means that right handed batting Tyler O'Neill gets the start for the O's in right field.

Hognrock

The O's are my 2nd favorite team but they need to trade him.  To be fair, I think I read that Tyler O'Neil has homered in his last 5 opening days.

And it's the first time the White Sox have been over .500 since Opening Day 2023 (which lasted exactly one game).

Thin Red Swine

And the White Sox are no longer over .500. Fun while it lasted.

Benny did have another hit today.

Hognrock

Benny went 1/3 with a 3-run HR.

Silent J got off the schneid going 1-4 with an RBI single but K'd twice. It would help him IMO if he was consistently in the lineup.  It's tough to do spot duty.

Didn't look good against the lefty. With Cowser on the IL, now is his time.

Aloy gets his first professional hit and goes 2-5 in his debut.
