He's 65 and coming off his worst 5 year stretch as a head coach. No NBA team is giving him a shot. When was the last time an NBA team even hired a college coach? I think it's Billy Donovan and that was ten years ago.

This is exactly how it needs to be done.  The coach can participate if he likes or can choose to sit back and enjoy the appreciation.

I don't have enough energy to hate on him.  My biggest concern was that we would not be able to get a good roster together for next year.  That is no longer a concern.  So, I'll be happy to thank him for the Elite 8's and Sweet 16's.

Fake or not, Matt Jones is a mouthpiece for UK athletic department.  They may have wanted Cal gone, but they don't like the appearance of having him poached by Arkiesaw.  So, they run that little rumor yesterday that he was thinking about backing out and say that he doesn't have the option now.  So, the narrative will be at some point in the future that he tried to come back but got fired by the great Kentucky.

All this shit from Jones is just UK trying to save face and stir shit up for Cal and a conference rival.  That's it.
