Trying to think back to a the last team where you didn't have to worry about who the shooters and scorers were going to be. It's been a while.

Modica, Brewer, Famutimi?

Dean, Gipson, Cleveland?

The last time we started 2-0 in SEC play was the 14-15 season.

Quote from: Borenutz on Jan 11, 2025, 07:11 PMI think this team will come around, but would have been nice to get these two at home.  It's going to be a grind to get to the postseason but it was always going to be this season.

Hopefully the stench of our program doesn't erase Cal's ability to pull in top talent. If he can keep doing that, we should be back to where we want. Just might not be this year, unfortunately.
Good lord shut the fuck up. We were preseason top 20 and brought in top transfers and signees. The tournament should be a guarantee.

Well we did have two elite 8s since then with pretty consistent scoring. I think our best team in a long while was that one that lost to Baylor in the elite 8 that had Jaylen Williams, Umude, and whoever the fuck else was on that team. It's over stated that guys don't "play with heart"...hell nobody likes to go out there and get embarrassed no matter if they are making bank or not. It shouldn't matter. We're just not set up to win SEC games. But we've started slow in recent years and still made the tournament so I wouldn't get all excited just yet. We just lost to three teams that look a lot closer to Sweet 16 and up than we do, all three with well established coaches for whatever that matters anymore.

"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

Oh look who has poked their troll head out of mommy's basement.

If you thought postseason was a guarantee this year, with 1 returning player, brand new coach, 13 of 16 teams in the sec ranked in the top 25, then you are a bigger idiot than you already get credit for on here.

The team that lost to Baylor was the year before Umude came. Umude's team lost to Duke in the Elite Eight.

The team that lost to Baylor had Justin Smith, Jalen Tate, and Notae...and freshmen including Moody, Jaylin, and the gay guy from Jacksonville.

Umude's team the next year had AD Toney, Notae, Kamani, the midget from Miami...and sophomore versions of Jaylin and the gay guy from Jacksonville.

Probably missing a couple obvious ones in there. I believe Bucket Sills may have still been here too.

Sills was on the Moody squad. I think that was the best team Muss had. Don't know that we would've beat Baylor but Notae was hot before getting hosed on a couple calls and fouling out.

The what if team was Muss's first year had Gafford returned. Only thing that team missed was a big who could rebound, defend, and give some inside presence. That team had everything else.

Yeah Adrio Bailey at the 5 was not ideal but Covid ended that season anyway. An even bigger what if is had Gafford made it to his senior year and been on that team vs Baylor.

I know their guards are what killed us but still fun to think about.

My kid played against Gafford when he was in 9th grade. Kid was extremely uncoordinated. He played up on varsity just for his size and athleticism. Really good to see the work he put in to get where he is today. He's come a long way. Seems like a really good kid too.

And Gafford did pretty well too.   :D
