Bottom of the seventh.

Robinett leads off. Grounds out to second. 1 away.

Aloy the Younger flies out to center. 2 away.

Boles walks. 1 on.

Peppi walks on 4 pitches. Runners at first and second, 2 outs.

Pitching change....Duhon (RHP) in.

Souza finally CRUSHES ONE OVER THE LEFT CENTER FIELD FENCE! HOGS WIN 15-3!
Well, shit...

This team has been the most entertaining at the plate since 2018.

His swing is electric. That's the thing that excites me about him, he's not just getting lucky. That will translate to SEC play.

Do we still want to fire Thompson?

My feelings too. Maybe he really did change the approach and we are starting to see parts of it now. I am hopeful that is the case.

Honestly I think the biggest thing is just having more talent...better hitters in the lineup, and more depth to push the guys who aren't producing to either improve or ride pine.

Whoever taught Wehiwa to be patient, go to the opposite field and spit on the slider low and away deserves a raise.  From reading offseason accounts it seems like that was more on his coach in the Cape Cod League than Nate.  But Kuhio is being much more patient this year than he did as a freshman at BYU so Thompson has to get some of the credit for that.

Last year Wehiwa walked 9.0% of the time and struck out 20% of his plate appearances.

So far this year those numbers are 9.8% BB and 11% K rate.

I honestly thought the walk rate was higher this year, but that's a massive improvement in the strikeout rate.

Agree. Example being Turner at the bottom of the lineup. His avg isn't outstanding but he gets on base a lot and has been robbed by some balls he smoked. We haven't had a guy that good in the 9 hole since Biggers.

Sorry, yes. No clue where I get Turner from.

Anyways, Thomas seems to make better contact, has more power, and gets on base better than any 9 hole guy we've had there in years. He's good enough to hit further up in the order but shows the depth we have.

Plus we have guys like Kozeal and Maxwell that can hit anywhere in the order. Deepest lineup we have had.

Who is?  No one will ever be the legend like Tanner English was.
