Hope everybody has a safe one. A couple of weeks ago a fellow was in a boat collision on Ouachita. He was hit and knocked out of his boat and the boat was in a full speed circle until it ran out of gas a couple hours later. I've been negligent about wearing a kill switch in my pontoon boat for years. I always wore one in my duck hunting and fishing boats, but not my pontoon boats. I got one from Amazon this week and I'm committed to wearing it. I hope yall will too.

Anyway, please take a couple of minutes this weekend to remember Captain B.L. Salomon, 27th Infantry Division, KIA on Saipan July 7, 1944.

God bless Captain B.L. Salomon

All 18 family members made it to the house on Lake Hamilton.  We hired a boat captain for the weekend.  If he falls out of the boat something went terrible wrong.

Everyone have a great weekend.

Go by any veteran cemetary and look at the crosses. THAT is the price of freedom. I have attended some veteran funerals where there was no family. It is very moving. Remember the cost. God bless all of them. Everyone have a safe Memorial Day.
Well, shit...

I've been to one, a distant relative.  The NCOIC was an uncle of his, who was leaving the day after the funeral to go back to his 8th tour as a Marine in Iraq.
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

Fireman 3rd Class Royle Luker who died aboard the US Virginia December 7, 1941 during the attack at Pearl Harbor will be buried with full military honors Monday, May 30 in Plainview (Yell County).

They identified his remains through DNA.  I think it's great they are still trying to bring the war dead home after all these years.

The obituary is at www.cornwellfuneralhomes.com

In memory of Capt Omar "Bud" Billett (1922-1945) who walked the snow covered foxholes of Bastogne late at night when they were surrounded by the Germans checking to make sure all his men were okay.  One of those men was my grandpa who he gave the coat off his back when he saw him on the verge of hypothermia.
