Quote from: vegashog on Mar 14, 2026, 10:18 AMand his explanation on why he chose to catch and shoot it shows his next level thinking. it wasn't because of the shot clock, he said if he went further out into the corner he would have been trapped. he anticipated what the defense would do and knew that that was the best shot.

and i thought it was cool when cal said despite all the nil he got, he doesn't even have a car.

He knows in a few months he'll be shopping for chauffeurs and private chefs.

It was an elite shot though.  Jordanesque with that elevation and fade.
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

I just can't do it any more. Ill have it on with the sound turned down and just glance up every now and then. Last night I glanced up just in time to watch the Oklahoma guy take seven steps before hitting the guy in the corner for a three to cut it to four. I put my head back down into my IPad until it was over.

We beat them and after the game, some fans were saying they would trade their whole team for those three guys. Delph and Brewer were like Dillards with even more accuracy. Seems like they were shooting from mid court. Acuff is a generational talent, but those guys were also. Acuff is clutch and probably the best pure shooter I have seen.

The only weakness in Acuff's game is his defense. He's not a bad defender, but he's not one of our best. Not a knock on him. I remember when we played Indiana St in the Elite 8 and Larry Bird was killing us and Eddie finally put Sid on him and he locked him down. Eddie said after the game that he waited to long to do that. I think Sid is all around the better player, but barely. He could score, rebound, defend guards to forwards.
I need help and I know it.

His only real competition for the GOAT is Sidney. He immediately was one of the best players in the league and I suspect Acuff will be also. As just a college player, Corliss is in the race.

Edited to add: The 78 team would have easily won the championship if there had been a 3 point line.

I don't think his defense is quite as bad as first thought either. If you are having to expend 40 minutes a game like that offensively, the defense is going to naturally suffer. I bet he improves at the next level.
