Quote from: DirkPiggler on Apr 01, 2023, 10:41 AMDue to the road closures I drove to work this morning via Kanis.  I didn't see so much as a downed limb between Chenal and Bowman.  The tornado must have touched down just north of Kanis to have done all the damage in the area of the funeral home.

One of my employees had half his apartment blown away.  Needless to say he didn't go to work last night, didn't call anyone (cell phones in our area were down even if he tried). A little while ago a clerk working in that building called raising hell because he didn't show up to empty the trash last night.  Some people just fucking suck.

It did some damage just southwest of Kanis/Baker Elemetary.  A friend of mine lives off Cooper orbit and it blew his garage door in and picked his 5ton a/c unit up and hurled it into the pond behind his house.  His neighbor to the south lost all his fence and lawn furniture and trampoline.  My buddy's kids were super excited about gaining a trampoline.

They are saying power will likely be out in Jville thru 4/6. Last night it was 4/1 at 10pm...I guess they found some additional problems. :)

There were some medium high voltage transmission lines down behind Ocean's/Highland Valley Methodist Church.  It's a 50kv transmission/distribution line.  Not sure what they feed, but they come from the big switch at the crotch of Kanis/Chenal across from Costco.

Strong tornadoes will scrape asphalt off the highway I don't think turf will slow it down much

The March 1 tornado of 90- something pulled the asphalt up off the road where it crossed Kling road in SWLR.  Not far from there it sucked a septic tank out of the ground.  Unimaginable power.

SwahiliSteve

The asphalt was ripped up down around Murray park by riverdale on Friday

They are apparently giving hotel vouchers out in LR for LR residents only. The Jville residents aren't getting shit though...a lot of those people were renting and have no where to go and only a few churches giving them a cot. Pretty sad. Don't know about Wynne. It's not talked about but apparently there was a good deal of damage in Sherwood and also in Cabot up through Butlerville putting it on track toward Wynne.

I saw some drone footage in Jville the tornado tore up some shit thru town starting at the ballpark and apparently popped up and went over a new neighborhood off Graham rd, at the last second it ended up getting one house and didn't touch the others in that new neighborhood. It went on to blow thru one of those airport communities off of Oliver Rd going toward Mt. Tabor road.

The southernmost damage I've heard  (at least before seeing Snoophog's post about Cooper Orbit) of was Parkway Place Baptist Church, which is just southwest of the funeral home. Missed my house in St. Charles by around 300 yards. Our neighbors around the corner had trees on homes and cars, but the most energy definitely hit the Calais apartments before it crossed Napa Valley.

SwahiliSteve

Just drove back from hot springs and napa valley is closed but you can see the worst was between Immanuel Baptist to Rodney parham right off green mountain it really hit those homes hard and the Calais apartments are pretty done. What I can't figure out is how the agape church went unscathed or did it have damage too

Only damage I saw was the cell tower on their campus that got blown over and a bunch of trees down.

I tried to drive up napa valley today to get back to my parents in Hinson but the cops weren't letting people through. We turned around and got back via green mountain and was shocked they're letting people through there. It basically popped over Calais apartments and then down and straight through the middle of green mountain right at the four way stop. Shit is bad over there. Didn't even bother to drive down Cantrell...have friends that live over in fox Croft who got lucky but a lot weren't so much.

Did it hit many houses along river cliff along the river before it went across to nlr? I haven't seen much from that area besides friends who live on the river by Murray park who showed asphalt ripped up

My cousin lives in Foxcroft. His house got hit by a huge pine tree, but the garage took most of the impact. His next door neighbor's house was smashed by a few other big trees. It will be a complete teardown. It seemed to veer east from there and hit Cammack. I'm sure some of the houses on the cliff on Palisades were damaged.
