The fact is, any other team has the injuries we had last year, regardless of an 8 man rotation or 10 man, they likely don't make the tourney and certainly don't make the Sweet16.  He really doesn't know ball.

Last year was a worse case scenario. Even our #10/11 big guys (Paolo/Emir) could be serviceable in a pinch. We are well stocked outside to absorb an injury.

If this team can stay healthy, they have as high a ceiling as anyone.

Memphis isn't a great team, but they are good.

That's the first time in a long time I can remember our basketball team coming out slow and getting punched in the mouth by a lesser opponent, and we didn't panic nor keep playing bad..

Just called timeout, made a few subs, kept playing our game and started kicking ass, all the way to a 40-point swing.

Usually we struggle to get back in the game at all in those situations in the past.

If we lose to every team on our schedule ranked higher than us right now (which we won't) and beat every team ranked lower than us right now (which we won't) we'll be 24-9 going into the SEC tournament.  Comfortably in the tournament I think with our schedule.  But we don't have much room for injuries or three game skids and all that.  It goes without saying, we need to play up to our potential.

I've seen it scattered across this game thread, so it bears repeating each season.

There is no such thing as "SEC refs" in basketball, like there is in football. Refs in college basketball are not employees of the conference, they are employees of the NCAA. Someone like Doug Shows will ref a SEC game one night, then a Big East game the next night, then an ACC game the following night, etc.

Yes that has been that way for ever and you can watch other leagues and the flow of the game is usually a lot nicer. I'm sure a stat nerd can sort that out but I'm not that guy. I just trust my eyes and my ears and I'm seeing what appear to be a lot of free throws in the SEC and long fucking games compared to say the Big 12 or ACC.
