Jason D is from El Dorado.  Need some clarification.

Driving down with my son (born 2000) to the game later today. Gonna regale him with Arkansas-Memphis stories that were before his time. Improve/edit/add to these two.

We once lost to Memphis because they blocked (3? 4?) punts in a game and we never adjusted.

We scored a touchdown and went for 2 because our coach didn't know we had scored, just ran another play.

Pretty sure the second one was SMU in Shreveport.
Oak Grove in the house.

They blocked 4 in one game. It was (and probably still is) an NCAA record for most blocked punts in a game. I was a senior in high school and my dad and I went to the game.

One of his Tiger fan buddies gave him a framed picture of the 4th block punt of the game for him to hang in his Hog Room at the house. It's still hanging there... :)

I was at that game. Nearly every play Memphis had on offense, our defense was still looking at the sideline to get what defense to run while Memphis was running a play. We were the most unprepared team I had ever seen.
Well, shit...

My brother is taking my oldest to the game (my youngest has a baseball tourney) so there's 2 of them.  I agree.

ONE GUY blocked four punts. Michael Irvin's poor man cousin, Ken.

We also lost a game to them 6-0 in the Ford era.

They might be "terrible" but we have quite a history of playing down to their level.

I believe you are correct. Memory wheels turning.

I think that was before Ford, but he lost three years in a row to SMU 95 - 97.

I was at the one at WM. I dont think we crossed midfield all day. It was a brutal game.

The 6-0 game was 1993, definitely Ford.

It was the week after we beat* Alabama by negative-40 points.

The four punt block game was on Joe Kines's watch.

Ah, precious memories.

I couldn't edit my post, but yes it was 93. I was in the band. It was raining I think.

If we are good enough to have a trap game, this would be it. Tough loss last week and Notre Dame next week, give me: Memphis 31
Arkansas 28
