Quote from: flash23 on Nov 28, 2025, 09:17 AMHe's the missing piece for our team. I doubt he'd get the benefit of the doubt from the refs like he does with Duke, but he's still probably the top college guy right now. I'm waiting on this supposed Kenny Payne magic when it comes to big men. Last year and this year we just have very little post presence.

The announcers mentioned last night that is our one missing piece is a dominant or at least better than avg 5. Unfortunately in today's game style there aren't a lot of them out there.

we're having to rely on the freshmen too much. they're good, but the dudes that came back ought to be playing much better. maybe some chemistry stuff going on.

expecting brazile to play like a under the rim big just leads to frustration. he's not that guy. he's having to do it because pringle and ewin get pushed around and are slow getting down the court.

I love Richmond's energy and he's a tremendous asset to our team BUT I think Cal needs to sit him in late game situations when we are trying to protect the lead. He is not a good ball handler. His late turnover last night when we had the ball and were up by 5 killed us. The game turned right there..His late turnover against Texas Tech in the Sweet Sixteen last year was the death knell too.

I know Wagner can't shoot, but I'd have him in the game instead of Richmond down the stretch for his ball handling, driving, and ability to run the team along with Acuff.

Knox sucked for the first month or two last season also. Maybe he's just a slow starter. If he comes on strong later in the year like he did last season, we could still go far.
I really don't care, Margaret.

HTL

We're going to be mediocre until Knox kicks it into gear. Like last half of season last year.

Barton Fink

We've also lost close games to two of the most physical inside teams in the country.

Need to pack BWA for the Louisville game. Should be a good one.

We need a good big man inside that can score and be physical. We don't have that right now and teams that do will abuse us underneath. Cal's teams usually live and die by the three. And they usually die in the tournament when they go cold. We are decent right now, but we still need to have an inside presence. We need a Boozer.
Well, shit...

We don't need a big man that scores.  We need a big guy that doesn't get runt over by the other teams big guy.

That was what the "and be physical" meant.

Apologies.  The "that can score" threw me off.

My fault. I am not a very good wordsmith. Especially when day drinking. 😀

At least we don't need a point guard anymore.
The dildo of consequence, rarely arrives lubed.

Can we not recruit a big dude off the football team just to be a hammer inside?  I mean, surely there is some huge dude that can play a little since they aren't worth a shit at football, maybe they are actually good at basketball?

Robert Brannon ain't walking through that door.

need to put that big slovakian in and go all nhl on their ass. cal said he rather see a foul than watching his players get pushed around.

Did you match shirts with that person beside you on purpose?

They were close but not exact matches. Shout out to True Boutique in Bryant. That poor guy married into (nieces husband) this crazy family, but he fits in perfectly.

Yeah I wondered when I saw you on TV and figured he had to be related somehow, as that was a later amendment to the Geneva conventions regarding men in matching shirts. You either have to be on the same team, in the military, or father/son. The later amendment by a few northern states allows for father/son in law, but I was never a fan of that amendment.

Way to represent though! I was lying on my mother's couch watching the game and when I saw you I said, "look honey, there's the guy woopig replaced Rick B with. He's retired Air Force too."

To which she replied, "Who the fuck is Rick B?"

"Exactly."
