We'll see what staff gets brought in... to see if I even have the fucks enough to give to be a darksider.

I'll give him a chance and hope for the best while expecting the worst.  He did beat Pittman with an inferior roster this year so I don't think he'll be any worse.

I'm 100% a Yuradipshit darksider for life though.  Will be even if Silverfield goes 15-0 next year.  You don't get credit for getting the right answer by accident.
Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

Do you not even CARE about the success of women's soccer!?

BMFP had no support of the big money, and he's as clueless as Sam in the ways of the portal and multifaceted recruiting and retention.  We need a new culture that reflects the many changes to the game.  Bobby didn't prove he could win a single game. We'll see if he gets a HC job.

I hope Ryan is as successful as JFB and restores the greatness of this program.  He hasn't proved he can win or lose.  I'll support him.

Reposting what I put in the other thread because I'm too lazy to reframe:

Quote from: Feral on Nov 30, 2025, 05:17 PMI'm just gonna put this out there.

I'm hardly a sunshine pumper (I was one of the first posters out on Yurachek years ago), but I actually find the negativity around the Silverfield hire perplexing.

He has a pretty decent track record with a good sample size in arguably the best non-P4 conference in college football in a program in our backyard. Is he the second coming of Urban Meyer? No. Is he Chad Morris 2.0? Almost assuredly not.

Our last 2 hires were a coach with a losing record at SMU and a career OL coach actively making retirement plans, but we're rioting in the streets because we hired a guy who won 8-10 games a year at Memphis?

Let's let the press conference and some staff hires play out and see what type of program he wants to run before we preemptively declare this the worst hire ever.

EDIT - one more thing. There's no such thing as a home run hire. Every hire is a complete unknown, good or bad. Brian Kelly and Jimbo Fisher were sure fire, home run hires. Conversely, Tennessee fans were hardly booking tickets for the CFP when Heupel was hired (record declined every year at UCF), and A&M fans weren't celebrating in the streets about hiring Elko.

You've been wrong over and over about Petrino, with several posters even showing you with the stats. You've turned into an over emotional version of the old man screaming at the clouds.

But congrats, you got your wish.

Again, I don't quite get the handwringing over Silverfield.

He's been a head coach as long as Sumrall and Golesh combined and is 4-1 against them head to head, yet they're home run hires by Florida and Auburn and ours was meh?

That just doesn't compute, but whatever.

Dude, that isn't dark siding... That's the mainstream.  Unless you're saying you want to KEEP HY??

The big money doesn't like winning games? I'm thinking with all the changes, recruiting/retention will become more the GM's job than the coach's.

With this team? Seriously? Name a coach you think could've gotten a win with this team.

Save your breath. Several of us have been over and over it with him even citing stats, offense vs defensive rankings, etc., but he has no response, just keeps repeating that Petrino is warshed up and asking when the next jello cup is coming around.

Sad because he's generally a good poster.

TheOtherWhiteMeat

And in the current college football environment, ADs don't need to be former head coaches or career administrators. They need to come from the ranks of business executives.

I don't think anyone believes Florida or Auburn made home run hires.  Silverfield is meh.

Just leave a pink slip in their lockers. They need to prepare for the real world. Or lock them out of the facilities like on Hard Knocks.
