Acuff is one of the best players to ever wear the jersey.  Thomas is right behind him.

But the key to how good we will be is our front court, and Knox.  Coming into the season Oweh and Knox were considered neck and neck.

Pringle, Ewin and Brazile are going to have to get better defensively.  Our problems are biting on every head fake and defensive position.  It's been a problem all year giving guys a lane,  inexplicably we just do the ole' and don't play in front.  Those habits have to get cleaned up.
If they haven't cleaned them up by now, I don't think they're gonna get cleaned up. Is what it is, probably.
The same people demanding everyone embrace your beliefs, have zero tolerance and condemn another for embracing theirs.  Oh, the irony.

Quote from: Sus-Scrofa on Jan 24, 2026, 06:29 PMI'm amazed teams aren't just jumping into our bigs when they bite on every ball fake three.

Agree.  I've never seen a team worse against the ball fake.  Knox and the bigs fall for it every time.

Pringle gets heat about his hands,  but his footwork is just as awful.  He's reactive all the time, especially on the defensive glass.  Worst ball instincts I've seen.

I agree that this might be one area where you can't coach it out.  It's due to not being in position in the first place, and having to "catch up".

Basketball is so much instinct, which you either have or don't.

We got outrebounded today by 8.  Usually that's a guaranteed loss for us.  Today Acuff heroics bailed us out.

Crowd was more than impressive for the conditions. First game we've been to in a few years. Thanks Gorillawarfare, I appreciate you. Had a great time with our son and his girlfriend. Besides a couple of LSU fans behind their bench, only saw two others the whole time.

Also, Jon Williams still sucks so bad.

Were they allowing admission without a ticket or any general admission seating?

Something about us seemed a step slow all day. They got a lot of bounces that just seemed to go right to them. Our FTs and rebounding didn't happen today. Happy for the W. FT practice will be happening.

Done. I'll actually be in attendance next Saturday for teh wooping flogging if necessary.

Well done, Hognrock.
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

I've said it before but it's a shame we don't have Acuff for more than 1 year.  I long for the days when they had to stay 3 years.  He's a generational talent.

Pig Benis better get his ass back to game thread duty because that was a nailbiter.

We were there and I was shocked at the crowd.  Didn't think we would have near that many people there.

It was a good win.  But shooting something like 33% from the foul line and getting out rebounded is not a recipe for long term success.

Acuff looked like he could score any time he wanted to.  Brazile made the one big 3, but we need more points from him to win in the long run. Not sure Cal shouldn't run a few plays for him early in the game to get his shot going.
Apparently retarded member of the "fucking old people" crowd as defined by Swahili Steve.

Crowd looked great on TV.  I assume people from the upper deck moved down?

Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Jan 24, 2026, 06:02 PMLSU's Thomas is almost as good as Acuff. They run through him every single time. They said he's been out? Certainly a completely different team with him.
LSU has only lost 2 games with Thomas in their lineup. He missed a lot of time with an injury.

People were in the upper deck as well. There was easily 14-15k in the building.

You had to have a ticket to get in.

Upper deck had quite a few people in it.

Agreed. Need TB engaged from the jump. It's like he's engaged for 2 games in a row, then the next game he looks like he would rather be anywhere but at the game he's playing in.

cal said about 15k. he liked that there were a lot of students in the high dollar seats.

They should do something like that every game.

Make every season ticket holder opt in (either commit to going themselves or having them sold) by 24 hours before tip off.  If the tickets go unused, offer them for free to students.

This might actually work.  My first thought was how would you police it?   You could take away priority points for each game tickets go unused.

Lurk

With the way tickets are transferred now, you can buy tickets on seatgeek right before the game starts. For way less than admission price. We don't wait that late since we're driving up, but if I lived up there.

I imagine there's a whole lot of ticket holders not paying attention to any kind of announcements, plus a whole nother set who are still trying to get them to friends, family, or woopiggers under the 24 hour window.

AporkalypseNow

I'm sure it's been said here already...

But of all of the amazing things Acuff does I might be most impressed with his ability to take a game we're getting roughed up in and strap the team on his back and carry us to victory

It's happened over and over this year

Just incredible for a freshman

Great crowd, those of you that went should be damn proud of it.  Hell of a show for our fanbase.
