Embarrassing, how do you come out flat at home against the Jellycats in front of a sellout and amped crowd.

This team has no leader or maturity.

Also thanks to the BOT who right after they meet and prop up the really bad at fundraising which is 95% of his job AD we get our ass kicked in embarrassing fashion - Notre Dame in football, today in basketball.

I guess after we throw the  $25 million at the SEC winless program that is gonna suddenly propel them to the CFP championship but more likely the Liberty Bowl (if we are lucky) then we will need to add another $15 million for men's basketball so we can get guys who don't commit dumb fouls and can make free throws and give effort 75% of the time.

Can't wait to hear it is "just basketball issues".

Maybe the University isn't the problem and the athletic department is.

Frucking A losing to that sad sack team is horse shit.

Sell one of them academic colleges on campus to the saudis and throw the profits at athletics so we can have a team worthy of printing and selling overpriced post season t-shirts for.  academic are holding us back!
Check your damn blood pressure!

But I was told that Kentucky was "no good" and that we would blow them out.

We still gonna win the natty...right?

I hope we're good by March.

This is the first game I have watched all year so I have no context.  I figure we will be good by the tournament.  We were ho hum last season and got to the final 8.  Of course, the fact is I don't care much anyway, tuned out when the one and dones took over.  Who cares how one year rentals do?
Splash 11! drop ABE track, too confusing

Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Jan 31, 2026, 08:50 PMI was at a thing and couldn't watch every second. Who got the 2nd technical at the same time that Ewin got one for not stepping on a guy?

There were so many T's so fast I couldn't keep them all straight.

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

The defense, lack of effort, sporadic free throw shooting...no real fix. Could be one and done or could make it to the second weekend. Longshot Houston boat raced us. Hard to see a high ceiling with this bunch.

I think this is the worst defensive team we've ever had. Maybe USC will fire Muss mid season and we can bring him in just to coach D.

Did Carter Knox piss a drop last night?  I don't even recall him getting a rebound.  Just a complete waste of space last night.

I don't think I saw him in the game the final ten minutes or so. He has been a complete no show. Team was never going to reach potential without him taking a step forward off of how well he ended last season. Needs a sports psychologist or something.

We were up 2 mid way through the second half, and he cut to the basket. The pass was bad, but he didn't make a full effort (he wasn't alone in this) to go for the ball. KY player stole it and had an easy dunk to tie it. I'm not sure, but I think that's the last time we had the lead. In short, he didn't do a damn thing. I'd be OK with Billy starting from now on.

Knox 0 points in 16 min. Wagner with 4 in 15. Pringle with 0 points in 13 minutes.

Can't have that out of Knox. Pringle you can live with if he's playing good defense and getting rebounds but he's been a big disappointment. I expected better.

Son of Spam

Acuff had an off night (for him). We couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, and our free throws..SMH. And, they couldn't miss. Every rebound came their way. And, they went inside on us the whole second half. We couldn't stop shit. I figured that some team would find a way to make Acuff uncomfortable, and when they did, nobody else showed up.
Well, shit...

After one of the last games, I said on here that poor free throw shooting and getting out rebounded would get us beat.

Add to that 3-14 (I think) from the 3 point line, and we are lucky we ever got a lead.

Everything that could have went wrong did last night and KY played their best game of the year. We are at our best in transition and only had 2 fastbreak points last night.

I'd like to see us play a little more with Knox at the 4 and slide TB to the 5 (or Ewin). That may help get him going. That gets Billy more mins as well at the 3.

It's the defense.

Yep.  Can't have an off game offensively if you can't stop them.

We have an off game one out of every three, which has to be a mental thing.

Hopefully we figure it out.  At least we don't have to sweat making the tourney like last year.

Also keeps us from getting out in transition when they get a bucket anytime they want it.

The Whyte Boar

I will say this in a modest defense of our defensive execution (which I think needs to be much better too), teams make fucking ridiculous shots against us.  I watch all these teams play their other games and they hit nothing like they do against us.  We can be guarding guys well 27 feet from the basket with the shot clock down to one second and they drain a three.

With Cal and all pub, we have reached the point where we get every single team's absolute best effort.  It really shows when we are even halfway flat.  We have to get the intensity up for every game.

You knew it wasn't our night when we airballed a tech FT. I mean FTF was that?
