TL;DR version - the top half of our lineup is hitting pretty well, but there's a pretty clear line between top 5 and bottom 4. Brumbaugh is about what you would expect from a green freshman, but Pompey and Niu are severely underperforming. Souza is what he's always been.

Brumbaugh need to drop 70 pounds of equipment and stop adjusting his gloves after every pitch.  He looks like a travel ball player who is trying to mimic the pro players.   Just go up there and hit.

Literally my biggest pet peeve in baseball.

You just took a pitch. Why do you need to adjust your gloves? You didn't do anything!

The pitch clock was literally invented because two generations pro players killed the watchability of MLB baseball with bullshit like this.

Nomar Garciaparra is the first one that I can recall in my youth that had a ritual that was borderline obsessive compulsive.
