Double header in baseball tomorrow just announced.  Big day for Arkansas sports.

Wish we were playing Bama tomorrow for revenge but I'll take beating rebel black bear land sharts as a consolation prize.

The Whyte Boar

Watch the replay of that last OU three point attempt.  Number 5 picked Billy up at half court, set a moving pushing screen on Billy, rode him pushing him all the way down to the basket, then two hand shoved him out of bounds to get the rebound...with no call whatsoever. It was justice that he fumbled the rebound.

And we all know how that turns out.

We shut Pack down in the second half. Both Thomas and Richmond played him. Other than the obvious of Darius Acuff Jr., that was the difference in winning and losing.

I'd add to that our 2nd half rebounding. We were -10 at one point, and ended up out rebounding them by 1. Brazile ended up with 12/11 and was the only player on both benches who ended up with a double-double.

If we end up playing Florida in the championship game, I'd think the seeding for the tourney would be set already regardless of outcome.
They're just such a bad matchup I'd rather the hogs play anybody other than Florida from here on out. They might win it all again.
I can't so much as drink a damn glass of water around a midget or a piece of antique furniture.

Trip report.

Downtown Nashville is fucking crowded on a Friday night. Like, French Quarter and Bourbon Street crowded. That's the best comparison I can think of. It is such an entertainment and night life district. Now, more than any other downtown I've ever seen. Those party buses with a bunch of thirty-somethings on them were all over.

My old ass stayed at a Hyatt Place down in Brentwood. At midnight, I saw three other groups in the hotel. All of them were SEC tournament related. Two groups of Bama fans and one group of Hog fans. All up about my age.

Kentucky fans were at the games but quiet. Bama and Arkansas were kind of tied for second most. It's hard to tell which is which with the red A stuff until you get up close.

I got tickets for the Friday night session for $90 and after we won, bought for today for $50. Seems like a good price to me to see Florida versus Vanderbilt and an Arkansas tournament game.

Oh the Swahili food report.

On the way down, ate at Patti's 1880s Settlement on Kentucky Lake. It's a "known" place kind of like a Cracker Barrel on steroids. My catfish perfectly seasoned but thin. Wife's pork cutlet delicious and large. Coconut cake for dessert was Wal Mart bakery level shit. One bite and done. Should have gone for their pies, they are known for pie.

In the arena I had wings, 6 large wings (drummies were almost drumstick size) for $7.99. That's about restaurant prices so a good deal and they were good. Better deal than a dry chicken strip basket for $15. And oddly for a place where Johnsonville brats sponsors the big scoreboard, no stand sold brats. Hot dogs only.

yeah, the game tomorrow won't matter to anyone but ole miss, if they make it there, as far as seeding goes. one of the committee guys said the quiet part out loud a couple of years ago that 99% of the bracket is set late saturday night. any movement after that will be for the teams that steal an auto qualifier spot and bump someone on the last four in line.

still think we can get a 4 seed by winning today. and winning the sec would be nice.

The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

BTW Acuff's shot from the corner on the inbounds to go up 4 happened right in front of where I was at the time. Then later I saw it on replay. His angle and the situation made it one of the more impressive clutch shots I have ever seen. I mean not quite up with Scotty for the national championship but definitely NBA level elite.

I used to think the TV shots from mid-court towards the basket, then rotating the other direction when the ball came the other way was the worst viewing experience. The weird drone angles they are using now are worse, if that's possible.
I need help and I know it.

I had the privilege of seeing Moncrief, Delph, and Brewer play at LSU way back when. We played at LSU and they had a hell of a team. We beat them and after the game, some fans were saying they would trade their whole team for those three guys. Delph and Brewer were like Dillards with even more accuracy. Seems like they were shooting from mid court. Acuff is a generational talent, but those guys were also. Acuff is clutch and probably the best pure shooter I have seen.
Well, shit...

Sad Kentucky fans checking out today is Glorious!
Ticket prices tumbled.

Not many Ole Miss fans around.
Oak Grove in the house.

If we win tonight and if we weren't probably going to be playing Florida, I'd drive over tomorrow.

and his explanation on why he chose to catch and shoot it shows his next level thinking. it wasn't because of the shot clock, he said if he went further out into the corner he would have been trapped. he anticipated what the defense would do and knew that that was the best shot.

and i thought it was cool when cal said despite all the nil he got, he doesn't even have a car.

There is a place in the gulch called St Vito Focacceria that is owned by a Hog fan who posts regularly on the On3 board.  We haven't tried it yet but it gets pretty good ratings and the owner seems like a good guy.  You might give it a shot if you're looking for a place.
Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

Starting a rewatch.  It'll be less stressful.
