Unfortunately our defense had a lot to do with that. They're built like Florida and it's no coincidence both teams scored over 100 and just absolutely dominated us.

Agreed. And going back to December we said our lack of a true big man inside was our Achilles heel. Then we lost Knox, then Pringle. So now lack of depth really effects how we play defense.

Throw in the mix a team shooting lights out, and it's a recipe for disaster.

Absolutely.

Overall not a bad season, but going out like that will leave a bad taste in your mouth, especially when there's very little retention for next year. It'd be nice to see a good chunk coming back trying with a chip on their shoulder for how the season ended, but I know that's not how Cal does it.

Maybe Billy, Wagner, Knox and Ewin come back. I don't know where Billy sits in draft boards but I'd be surprised if he moved into a lottery pick. Anyway, get those guys back, add the newcomers and grab that UGA center and we'd be pretty salty, with hopefully enough pissed off dudes that we could buzzsaw someone.

Yes you gotta have the total package and no matter the sport we usually lack somewhere that becomes the Achilles heel. Not enough big nasty to go with generational guard talent this season.

I say this every year but playing 7 or 8 to begin is probably gonna end you playing 6 or 7. We needed one more useful big that could give us 10 minutes when really needed

Worst defensive team we've ever had. I could tell what the issues were from watching one scrimmage. Then you had idiots here arguing we would be much better defensively than last year.
