We already knew HY is a god damn idiot so this onslaught of revelations is just slop at this point. Also purely on resume I don't know that Eric Morris or Kane Wommack were that big of a selling point for people to be crying in their beer about over now. Good odds if any of those guys were hired they'd still be 2-3...maybe 3-2 at best. That being said I probably would have taken a very hard look at Morris or Wommack...both seem to have some upside to them. I've never really gotten the vibe that RS is very ambitious, hiring him was basically going to be his "I made it" moment and that's the end of that.

As has always been the case with HY football decisions we were competing against air for our hire. We got to get this right? I remember something like that being said...well they let the wrong idiot get to have his pick. At the time and even more so now I felt like the upper leadership wanted to stay far way from this hire. That's the leadership on the hill.

Wommack alone wouldn't have excited me any more than Silverdong.

I had the same concern with Wommack as I did anyone else we were considering - who would they bring as a staff?  At least Morris had the history as an OC.  Wommack probably got himself disqualified for saying he wanted to keep Bobby.

When his name came up, there we people on this board saying they didn't want him because 'Morris' was his last name, even though he had nothing to do with Chad Morris. So dumb.

HY screwed up by not hiring him. We would of had a QB and a brighter future with Eric Morris as our coach.

We need a head coach that knows what it means to play defense in the SEC.  We need an offensive coordinator that understands Power 5 football.

I'm still fascinated by how wild that was.  I drove there, took a picture of the place with the front dark and the parking lot empty, and people "in the know" on nobville were just like, "They're obviously meeting in the back."  And folks on that dumb site ate it up.
