For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Does this mean Rick b finally can get permanent seats so he doesn't have to fight with the peasants standing in line now?
Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

Suites not seats. Rick will still have to camp out

They priced the moderately wealthy...the demographic that Ole Miss has used to kick our asses in NIL...out of one of their favorite perks.

Typical lack of understanding of the donor base by our failed AD.

Several people who helped build the program, make Baum Stadium what it is today, and who were donating bigly to baseball when it was George Cole Field got told they'd have to cough up a cool half million $$ to get any box next season, and were not given the choice to stay in the box they'd had for two decades.

It was a shitty move by a shitty AD.  We have no money because Yurachek sucks.  His ineptitude is pulling the entire athletic department into a death spiral.
I'm on smoko, so leave me alone.

The perfect candidate would be someone like Doug McMillon.  Running the athletic department would be a breeze after running Walmart.

He's a UA grad, wicked smart (if slightly woke) and would be a direct line to getting the Waltons back involved in a meaningful way.

There isn't any point in trying to apply logic to any of this. We'll go Budget rental AD on the next hire since HY probably gave himself a fat buyout.
"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

Budget rental because Houston Nutt will do the job for cheap.

How do you handle someone who wants to give $5million but there are no boxes available while a lot of the folks with boxes have been giving $100,000 for years and years?  How do you juggle that without pissing anyone off?

you send out at beginning of the year a letter to lower donors and say price is going up. New price is this...if you can't pay there are others that will

That's my thought as well, but wmr's comment above seems to be that he doesn't agree with that.  Or did I misread his comment?

But at least we invested in million dollar laser led lights for our stadium with little to no night games

The points system initiated by Long was supposed to be the answer to this.  It was a way to balance lifetime versus annual giving.  During the most recent basketball reallocation they posted a calculator that would tell you your current standing among donors both overall in your class.  It would also tell you what a hypothetical donation or annual increase would do to your position all else equal.

That doesn't completely answer your question I know, but it's one thing they've done to try.  Truthfully I can see both sides of it.  The big issue I have with the current baseball reseating (and the basketball before it even though I wasn't a ticket holder at the time) is that it didn't give any option for keeping current seating.  There was no "increase your giving by this amount and you keep your seats" like we had in the previous baseball plan back in 2022.  The only option was "give this much more and you'll get an earlier selection time."  And of course there's the problem of not letting everyone know until shortly before the season starts, and after we had already made our pledges (although you can always increase them).  I'm sure a lot of affected people would have completely stopped giving had they known they were going to lose their preferred seats and/or boxes.

I don't get the complaining about this.  Many of us have complained about the terrible in-game atmosphere compared to other SEC teams.  This is actually a rare occasion where they appear to be spending money in the hopes of future return in increased ticket sales or retention.

I agree with this.

Is the argument that we could have spent that money on another tackle or a better QB? What does that do? Take us from 3 wins to 4 or 5?
irritatingly incompetent & infuriatingly unhelpful

I heard a lot of complaints from my brother and some other friends in town last week that the stadium decided to install those fucking scan your cc and then grab and go type shops in the stadium now similar to the amp does for drinks and it all went haywire and stopped working the other week. Broncos do this at their stadium and I'm always like are they scamming me and also are they just adding tip without my consent

If they are the same as the ones at Baum they are a major time saver and don't add in tips as there is no server there.

Again this is complaining about what sounds like a temporary glitch in something that when it's working right fixes a major complaint about the in-person game experience.

the football stadium upgrades don't come from the same pot the money for the players does.

they came from the infrastructure budget so that argument makes no sense.
