There really isn't a board anywhere else like woopig. It has changed owners multiple times, gone through several different changes to its look and layout, added and lost regular contributors, and rode through the worst ten year stretch in football program history, not to mention changing its entire web address, and yet there are people who've been lurking for twenty years who follow it wherever it goes, sign-up all over again, just to sit in the shadows as ever.

If I turn my phone off WiFi at work, pages loads are zooming. With WiFi on at work it takes 30 seconds to load a page. Home internet last night, zooming again.

Not to mention the issues with the WCDC thread, posting pictures of arrested people who hadn't yet been convicted of a crime.  I doubt we would have faced any liability as they were a matter of public record, but that doesn't mean there wouldn't have been expenses in defending a lawsuit.  Unless of course @One Quarter or @jdcatty would have worked pro bono.

With magazines in convenience stores with people's mug shots in them, I don't know how anyone could fault Woopig for anything.

Oh I agree. 

People file frivolous lawsuits all the time.  It still costs money to defend against them. 

But the point was, Woopig (or by extension Steve) was much more likely to be sued over the WCDC thread than it ever was for any supposedly racist remarks, latent or otherwise.

I'm just stoked that it's back. I rarely posted anything but I have been a member since 2003 or 2004 and spent WAY too much time on the board to not be actually sad when it was gone. I always felt that it was a real connection to home and the Hogs after I had to move away for work after college. Like some of the other guys have already said, I will gladly pitch in some money to keep it around.
