Let me just say this. I'm old enough to remember a lot of the admins from prior to the attempted coup. In fact I imagine a good deal of us are that old. I don't specifically know what went down, or can't remember shit...but I know what the result was. We had a great group of admins that followed and had a good run and then it was burned down without much reason given. That's been something like 7 years ago. WPFM, Cotte, Drod77, Verotik in particular largely moved on with life. Notaslibro moved on for other reasons either before or after that I can't recall. Certainly you can't run a board this long without people coming and going. People grow up, move on, lose interest, get butthurt or bigghurt, get old/sick and die.

I know in the big picture what woopig.org has managed to do in a matter of a few days is sign up what 150 members? Something like that. Clearly there was still a lot of interest in this board and certainly plenty of people here who would not have just let it die and this .org is evidence of that. A simple post a week ahead probably would have avoided the issue, it may not have prevented the site being down for a week but it would have probably given time to get a proper backup.

For the 2nd time that I've been involved in this entire board process this particular individual didn't so much as give a thanks or a pat on the back to the people have have kept it going thru the years. It's all about his ego in that He lost interest.

My only agenda for woopig is the same as it always has been-to keep it going. In a nut shell, my answer last weekend was to start another board. That's what we did.

The main function is the same. To have a Razorback's sports message board. There was interest in it before last weekend and judging by this week, there still is. Naturally there is going to be other interests that fans are going to want to discuss and it serves that purpose as well. I think it needs the p and r board to keep it separate from the rest. I also think we can do that without 7th grade insults. I personally don't have a problem with those because it lets you know the mentality of the person that uses them.

We don't need heavy handed administrating. We don't need cliques or private boards or admins with an agenda to drive it where it needs to go. The members drive it.

I'm very happy that people have chosen to continue and hope everybody stays active to make it viable.

What animal said is how I feel. I remember the coup. Lots of egos around this place, especially those days. I've never seen a more pompous dick than Truth or HIM anywhere . And the board was vicious.

But woopig is not an address or beholden to any person's whims. Woopig is a collection of assholes too cool, belligerent and intelligent to be anywhere else who know their shit and love the Hogs.

I know a lot of lurkers who are terrified to post here. Smart, good people you'd like to have a beer with who would rather have a prison colonoscopy than post. Yet they depend on this board and I took calls from random rmpl woopigers that were really bummed the board was down. I can't imagine being so care less or self absorbed not to do everything in my power to keep something running that people living in a shit cruel world use for a little respite.

I guess woopig is the rooster of Razorback message boards. Ain't found a way to kill us yet.

I'm guessing that doesn't have the actual database in it. I went ahead and downloaded the zip in case that shit is mysteriously pulled really quickly by the person that's totally not interested in any of this.

Also it being on git hub I reckon it could be forked...

In short though...old woopig was fairly out of date. If that's from 2021 it's probably worser. That shit was buggy a frick.

This is the disconnect for me.

If he truly doesn't care, why not relinquish the domain name? The rest of what he says makes sense and doesn't seem unreasonable.

For whoever "bought" the board, was the domain name not supposed to convey?
