Quote from: BASS on Jun 27, 2023, 07:11 PMSo sad. I loved watching him run bmfp's offense.

If you are caught in a rip tide swim at a 45 degree angle to the shore, don't panic, and don't swim too hard. Take your time.
There was a DeSoto County Deputy over here that was over water rescue and recovery. He was in Destin a couple of years ago. His two kids were caught in one. He saved them but didn't make it back himself. Something must happen to your brain that causes you to panic. You would have thought he, of all people, would have known what to do.
Well, shit...

Quote from: Trigger7672 on Jun 27, 2023, 06:55 PMThat 2010 team was good enough to win a national title. His td pass to Wingo on the opening drive of the Bama game is still the loudest I've ever heard Razorback stadium get. The LSU game that year might be #1 on my list for football games I have seen in person. I remember going to a spring practice in 2009 watching Mallett pass the ball and being so fucking pumped up. RIP Ryan.

That 2010 winner goes to the Sugar Bowl game was a party from start to finish.

I haven't bothered going to a Little Rock game since.

Shouldn't it be 90 degrees?

Man. This sucks so hard. Rip Ryan Mallet. Prayers for his family.

Terrible news.  God bless his family.

Damnit, damnit, damnit. Terrible news.

What I loved about watching Ryan Mallett play, besides the epic arm and feathery touch deep balls, was his swagger. No fear. He came to whoop your ass and then tell you about it later, unapologetically.

He and Bobby Petrino were a great combination. Their years were the most fun I've had watching Razorback football as an adult. They didn't top the great teams and players of the '60's, but I was just a kid then.

That pass, and play call, to Joe Adams to start the Sugar Bowl was a thing of beauty, perfection. Sure wish Joe would've caught it. I seem to recall when Ryan was quarterbacking, we got up to #3 in the nation. Game days in Fayetteville were lit.

Thanks for the memories and rest in peace Ryan Mallett.
I really don't care, Margaret.

This is terrible.  I would have loved to see what he could do at White Hall. lived there a couple of years.  Life seems like a crap shoot sometimes.
Splash 11! drop ABE track, too confusing

That Cobi Hamilton TD at the end of the first half vs LSU might be my favorite Razorback play of all time.

Damn shame.

They may not have admitted it at the time, but it seems college fans everywhere loved watching him.

Look at the ocean, enjoy the beach, swim in a pool.  I've had five friends drown in my life.  One in the Arkansas with his father. A frat brother on the Eleven Point in a canoe (all they found was a jawbone some months later).  One of a asthma attack scuba diving in Beaver.  Two in Florida.  Panic and exhaustion is what usually does it.

I just watched the condensed version of the game on YouTube.  I had forgotten about that goal line play at the end of the game.

We may have just stopped them at the one.

Wait, was that a safety?!

Wait, holy shit, they fumbled it and we recovered!

I'm pretty heartless but this one hurts. He was a true Arkansas hero.

RIP Mr. Excitement and fuck you Houston Nutt

Yeah, that was a great game. My corndog brother was with my dad and I. He had to separate us, when their band started playing during our pregame and I started cussing them out from across the stadium.

Fuck LSU.

Parallel to shore until the current dies out. From every story I've heard down here, that's way easier said than done because of the panic that sets in.

That 2010 game was the only one to equal or better the 1989 Houston game. I'd call them 1 and 1A in horse racing parlance.

I baptized my son into Hog football in the Mallett / BMFP era. This one really hurts.

I hereby move that we give Houston Mutt's Arkansas Hall of Honor spot to Ryan Mallett instead.

The field marshal for the rebirth of Arkansas football.
