These kids have been told most of their lives is that Bobby Petrino is a scum bag and did Arkansas wrong so it shouldn't come as a huge shock that there may be a few that nope out now. I do think anyone that's been around the team for the last couple years has had a good introduction to what a Bobby Petrino led offense can do though.

I'm pretty sure most of the kids that play football had never heard the name Bobby Petrino until about 4 days ago. 

He is relevant to us, but to the rest of the players he isn't shit and just another coach.

I told my 17 year old the other day, "Guess who we just hired for offensive coordinator."   She replied, "What's an offensive coordinator?"  I told her and then I said, "Bobby Petrino."  She replied, "OMG."

She remembers him and those games.  She went to the Little Rock LSU game and she remembers.

Santega is still learning to play WR, I would think he would shine under BMFP if, and I would think he is, still demands precision routes from his WRs and TEs. the attention to detail when he was here before was impressive and it produced did it not?

Saw a crawl that the Arizona St. QB is portalling, was 4-1 as a Notre Dame starter against Top 25 teams.

Maybe someone out of the blue like that will want to come throw for Bobby.

Yes, I'm talking about the fb players. They're the same age as the rest of the students who where painted up and freaking out for Bobby. Many of whom I'm sure were not Arkansas natives. I'm betting he still carries weight with many fb players.

I have a hard time believing KJ Jefferson and Rocket Sanders have ever had a conversation about BP prior to 5 days ago.

While I can understand your point I think you are selling these kids short in terms of their attention span. With that said If the crowd is any indication I think there are a lot of people/parents like minded in the point that Petrino's firing was bullshit and fuck everyone else we want DUBS. So perhaps instead of hearing that Petrino is trash they heard...god damn this program has been goat fucked since Petrino.

And when I say "KIDS" I mean all kids who have followed football over these last 12 years while growing up. Hell I was memorizing rosters and bios when I was 10 years old and look where that got me.

Sure the average kid over the last 5 years or so probably doesn't know much about Petrino. Memories fade and people let go of the rope eventually and then they get pulled right back in. KJ and Sanders undoubtedly would have seen the Missouri state prep and A&M...they know about BMFP.

The fact that KJ's going to portal became "misinformation" about 5 minutes after it was announced that Petrino was coming says he put the brakes on that shit real quickly. Personally I think he gets told to move on or at the very least is told the job is going to be a competition. KJ can probably meet with the coaches during the off-season stuff over the next month or two and they can evaluate him and he can decide if he's a fit. They'll still be schools trying to fill holes in the roster as late as April and May.

My prediction is KJ goes to Auburn.


Petrino undoubtedly would get more out of KJ than Enos did but there is still some huge short comings to his game and he's probably more or less set in his ways at this point. There is still the weirdly inaccurate balls he's been throwing. Some people feel like the guy has had shoulder and/or elbow throwing motion issues for a while now. KJ has taken a lot of abuse to his body over the last 4 years or so. Playing for Bobby isn't going to make that any better because his offense tends to gamble on the QB getting the ball out before getting killed but get the ball out even if you do get killed and get it out accurately. Does that sound like something KJ can do? I don't feature the UA gambling again on another offense change with a QB that flat out struggled in something closer to pro style and much further away to the Briles system. Especially when Petrino can probably find a portal guy that either knows his offense or fits more closely to what he wants.

they changed up the portal window this year. starting at midnight monday it's open for 30 days. there's another two week window at the end of april.

i think the multi-year starters and 'big name' guys make their decision pretty quick because it doesn't do them any favors to wait. the april window will be for players down on the depth chart that want to see where they're at after spring ball.
