When Mike played against him in the SEC title game and they had him mic'd up "you know they won't do anything worth a shit offensively." That's when I changed my tune on him. He's got that dog in him. He'll be hungry.

I went to the UK-Ark game in Fayetteville in 2022 and we stayed at the Graduate, having no idea it was the UK team hotel.  It was icy as hell on the way up and around town that night.

Got in the elevator with him and a young teenage boy who was with the team (manager or ballboy?).  We were decked out in all red the morning of the game (heading to eat lunch on the square) and he was all class and complimentary of our fans and program and we discussed the Juwan Howard situation for a bit as the kid brought it up.

In my mind I always thought he was a pretentious dick, but after meeting him I have to admit I really liked him.

So, for many reasons I do hope it's him.

Kentucky owes him a fortune if they fired him.  If he's our next coach we are paying him well but also rest assured he's hungry because he could walk with more money than most of us earn in our careers (and he's already got plenty).

100%. He's always spoken highly of us remember when he was on ESPN saying our job is a top 10 job in the country.
