She can't be guarded by these goons except for grabbing pulling and stiff arms.  There are some other guards who would also benefit from normal officiating.  To some degree her detractors are right in that lots of people get beat up in the WNBA.  She gets beat up worse, but not as much as the perception.

Except for families of the players and maybe the players themselves, there are very few people in this league who knew much about basketball or had ever watched it on any level with either sex.  It marketed itself as a woke league empowering black and lesbian women and its fanbase were mostly fat blue haired white lesbians and fags.  You know, the kind of people who normally scoff at sports and don't know shit about them.

So when Clark came into the league she brought unprecedented numbers of people who actually followed basketball and were attracted to her by the way she played the game.  They were appalled to see her get the shit beat out of her.  The lesbians and chattering class said you only care because she is white and this is a physical league.  The basketball people rightly countered that what they were watching had no place in basketball and thugs like Alyssa Thomas were doing shit that would embarrass Bill Lambeer.  Go find the film of Thomas deliver a flat palmed strike to Cameron Brink's nose WHILE Brink was wearing a mask for a broken nose.

It's a league that would rather provide a place for woke lesbian fans to think they are empowering black lesbians and for those lesbians to bask in that adulation and entitled victimhood, than play actual basketball and allow a white superstar to make them all rich.

It's not just the WNBA.  I remember when we started being good at women's soccer.  It was fun to watch (at least the Women's World Cup), and then the social justice warriors showed up, with their lesbos and tranny friends.  The ick outweighed the quality of the soccer, and just like that, I didn't give a fuck about women's soccer.  Even the NWSL commercial on ESPN make me throw up a little in my mouth.

You have players like Clark, Bueckers, and Miles, and also this.

And they want to be paid MORE? Women's college b-ball in the 90s was fundamentally sound, this is like watching a youth rec league.

Looks just like 7th grade girls bball.
The same people demanding everyone embrace your beliefs, have zero tolerance and condemn another for embracing theirs.  Oh, the irony.

There was an actual "no shit" dunk.  It was a solid one handed throw down.

From someone like 6'9"? Or someone that actually had to jump?

Sling just ran a commercial for the WNBA League Pass.

I figure the people paying for that are the same ones taking the Arkansas River Cruise.

this is why I think yall are bonkers for hyping and being so into women's basketball.
Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

I don't think anyone has hyped the WNBA.  A few of us (or maybe all of us) have hyped Clark.  The women's game at all levels has a long way to go.
