Through the entire game it just felt like Canada was going to equalize and even take the lead.  They spent a lot of time on our side of the ice.

It's more than nice. It's damn rare, the first time in 15 years (excluding the 2022 Olympics, when no NHL players were used).

I wouldn't put this tournament on the same level as the Olympics, but it definitely is greater than the World's. I also think the back to back gold in the U20's crushed Canada's soul more than this. That said, I liked the way our blueline shut them down after that first goal. Canada needs a better goalie. Still got to win another one.

Yeah, this one just has no history.

But there is evidence of rivalry and bad blood from seeing each other so frequently during the season, which is all it needs to succeed. I'm guessing guys from the countries not competing will be champing at the bit to get their turn.

I watched a video montage of the sequence of booing, puck drop and then the fights with Freebird playing. Thats the best video I've seen using Freebird since a video I saw a couple of years ago with a dude doing like 150 mph in a flatbottom boat being filmed from an airplane.
The same people demanding everyone embrace your beliefs, have zero tolerance and condemn another for embracing theirs.  Oh, the irony.

I believe the U20 team started using Freebird at the tournament in Sweden last year and again this year. I'm glad 4N team is using it because I'm sure it annoys other teams. Hopefully they keep it.
